What beer are you drinking now? #1929

Not what I would think of a collaboration brew but not bad. But not good.

My lovely bride and I have the night off. My daughter's in laws (great folks) have taken the next shift of newborn baby watch. Been a long time, but I do not remember it being such a big deal having kids. Perhaps time distorts things.

 

Really tasty. Gave away my last can today to a bud.

This is new to me as well. Not bad, respectable for sure. Nowhere near the juice of Treehouse!

Been painting since noon. Quitting time. My last Substance. This beer smells alot like marajuana. Not that I would know what that smells like.

 

Wrapping up a "short shot" tequila/taco Wednesday, both have to be up at 0400 tomorrow. Got a little "Dayglow" lurking in the background, BA gives it 4.1, I'm about a 3.5, but hey, we're all different...Holy crap, tomorrow is February already..............

 

I am drinking this NEIPA from Wisconsin after having 3 mind-blowing IPAs that are unquestionably amazing. I was curious to see if I overreacted after first trying this last weekend, because quality NEIPAs do not come from Wisconsin, and I became quite excited when suddenly a brewery was doing what I always dreamed would happen. My conclusion now, is that this beer is all that I initially thought it was. If you are going to the Super Bowl this weekend, swing over to Eau Claire, WI, for some of this beer.

 

Ceci N'est Pas a NE Style IPA...

More nonsense from Evil Twin... DDH DIPA with an 8.5% abv and an undisclosed hop bill and canning date; brewed by Dorchester Brewing in Boston... Brightly citric and zesty with deeper tropical notes; moderately sweet, mildly bitter... Sounds like an NEIPA to me...

I usually pick the wife up a 4 pack of the Dragon's Milk variants they release and in turn she allows me to drink one. I have to say I think this may be my favorite since the rum barrel coconut. Lots of caramel, salt and butterscotch and not a ton of bourbon for an 11% stout.

Jet black liquid, pencil thin layer of brown foam, settles to a layer of brown bubbles

Aroma of coffee, cocoa

taste of cocoa, coffee, a smidgen of vanilla, don't taste the chili peppers

some sudsing, smooth rich taste , well hidden 13% abv

good beer

 

Ok, moving on to the cleanup hitter - Magnify Yeah You know me w/coconut. This guarantees the IPAs are done for the evening. cheers
