Slam-o-el-two-o for the evening. Cali finally woke up from sleeping on my lap (and arm) and now "free to move about the cabin". Took advantage of the opportunity to run to the beer fridge for one last beer tonight and snap a pic ...

I just mentioned this beer in a post on another thread. Put me in the mood. Lots of good college hoops tonight. I guess it's been a good few days for St. John's!

I moved to Delaware in 1993, and came upon a record store I'd never been to before, and saw this on sale for $4.99. I had never heard of Soundgarden before, and bought BMF because of the name alone. This reminds of nothing but great times. Thanks!

That post said "these guys" as opposed to "this beer," which appeared to indicate Toppling Goliath should be in the NEIPA brewer discussion, not that Florida PseudoSue is a top beer. They can barely give Florida PseudoSue away around here in some places, so you are totally correct about that.

Revolution III from Beaver Island Brewing. 10% ABV

Not bad, but not impressed either.

This beer pours a nice thick black color. 1 1/2 finger brown head. Retention is good, and there's some nice lacing on the glass as the head dissipates.
The nose is somewhat muted. There's some of the aromas that make a good RIS, but very weak.
Taste - well, the taste is also a bit muted. Some chocolate, toffee, and other flavors, but a lot weaker than I'd like. There's some barrel presence, but also muted.
Feel - is a bit watery for this ABV beer.
Overall, it's ok, but it could be a lot better. The flavors are just too weak for a RIS.

Awesome IPA, haven't had this in a while. Aromas and flavors of big peach, mango, apricot, pineapple, papaya, tangerine, grapefruit, melon, lemon zest, orange peel, light pepper, and pine hops; with moderate caramel, toasted bread malts; and herbal, floral, grassy hop earthiness. Moderate pine, citrus peel, herbal, grassy, spicy bitterness on the finish. Medium carbonation/body, and fairly crisp finishing. Balanced creamy/bready malts and sticky hops in the mouthfeel. Light resins/rinds, increasing bitter dryness, no hop astringency. Very easy drinking, never aggressive. Great Azacca hop showcase. Tastes like the same malt profile of Centennial IPA; with bright, juicy, and lightly dank Azacca hop complexity. Need to get this more often.

Delicious English brown as always. Flavors of big caramel, brown sugar, toffee, toasted biscuit, brown bread, coconut, and light chocolate/cocoa; with some light herbal/spicy hops and raisiny yeast dark fruits. Light herbal bitterness; nice medium bodied creamy mouthfeel, with light hop/roast malt stickiness. Touch silky. Minimal dryness. Great brown ale malt complexity and not too overly heavy on coconut flavors; with balancing light hop/yeast character. This is basically my fallback replacement for Death By Coconut; it is pretty similar in flavors, but not as roasty. Love it all year.

Outstanding IPA! Finishing off yet another 4 pack. Glad they date the packs now as well. Aromas and flavors of huge grapefruit, tangerine, pineapple, peach, passion fruit, papaya, mango, lemon zest, orange peel, citrus rind, pepper, and pine hops; with light caramel, lightly toasted bread malts; and herbal, floral, grassy hops earthiness. Moderate pine, citrus rind, grassy, spicy bitterness on the finish. Medium bodied/carbonation; balanced bready/grainy malts and sticky/resinous hops in the mouthfeel. Increasing resin dryness, minimal hop astringency. This is insanely dank and vibrant on hops. Nice malt backbone, no residual sweetness. Amazingly drinkable. Definitely something like Columbus, Simcoe, Citra in the hop bill. Glad the distribution of Ellison increased dramatically recently. Looking forward to trying more of their other stuff soon. They all keep delivering amazing results. Will always keep one of their beers in the fridge.

2017 is tasting amazing! Flavors of huge dark chocolate, cocoa, nutty dark roast coffee, molasses, caramel, toffee, vanilla, bourbon, toasted oak, and dark bread; with lighter notes of dark fruit, smoke, and charcoal. Roasted bittersweet and bourbon/oak spicy balanced finish. Full bodied, awesome creamy/silky/velvety and lightly slick mouthfeel; with some lightly drying chalky roast and tannic oak/bourbon notes after the finish. Mildly warming finish, zero boozy barrel notes. Very smooth sipper. I thought the 2016 batch was an improvement over the original 2015 batch; this does another step forward for me with the higher ABV. Fantastic barrel integration/balance with the fruity/nutty coffee and rich malts; without being overly boozy on the barrels. This vintage did not seem to need as much added age to mellow from the barrel booze aspect when fresher, vs previous years. Getting even better every time I have it. Will be stocking up again soon, should be hitting distro this month.

New Augury this week. It's about damn time. Been 9 years since the last LP.

Another new album announcement. I haven't gotten into this band much yet, but this sounds fantastic.

I am at Prairie Artisan Ales in Tulsa, Oklahoma, drinking Prairie Artisan Ales A Fresh Pair an American IPA, ABV 4.0%, IBU 45, citra and mosaic hops. It is citrus, lemon, grapefruit, faint pine resin, mild for an IPA but very refreshing and juicy.

I am drinking a freshly brewed Founders Imperial Stout, ABV 10.50% at Prairie Artisan Ales in Tulsa Oklahoma. So why am I drinking Founders at Prairie Artisan Ales? Because KBS and fresh Founders Imperial Stout are hard to find, and I bought Prairie Artisan Ales stuff to go. Anyway, this is caramel, chocolate, cream, and coffee like hop kick. It is very good.

Singlecut 18 Watt - from a Crowler poured today. Possibly the best Session IPA I've ever had. Hazy, creamy and a great representation of a 5% ABV beer.

Bottled 8/31/2005 and opened upon hearing of the passing of an old friend. We never met, but I've known him from as far back as high school.

    "Cassidy"
Words by the late :sob: John Perry Barlow.

I have seen where the wolf has slept by the silver stream.
I can tell by the mark he left you were in his dream.
    Ah, child of countless trees.
    Ah, child of boundless seas.
What you are, what you're meant to be
Speaks his name, though you were born to me,
    Born to me,
    Cassidy...

Lost now on the country miles in his Cadillac.
I can tell by the way you smile he's rolling back.
    Come wash the nighttime clean,
Come grow this scorched ground green,
Blow the horn, tap the tambourine
Close the gap of the dark years in between
    You and me,
    Cassidy...

Quick beats in an icy heart.
    catch-colt draws a coffin cart.
There he goes now, here she starts:
    Hear her cry.
Flight of the seabirds, scattered like lost words
Wheel to the storm and fly.

    Faring thee well now.
Let your life proceed by its own design.
    Nothing to tell now.
Let the words be yours, I'm done with mine.
    (Repeat)
