Just finished taxes. Big return from the feds ( moving & house purchase deductions ), the states of Oklahoma & Arkansas, not so much. Now time for a beer: Firestone Walker Luponic Distortion #8 & that is it. Maybe a beer at the airport on the way to Cali

 

Whoops, I lied, I do have another beer in me this AM. Mother's Trop Top PA

 

Let's ignore the thousands of beers I had last week during TBBW...this is now, my last day off until work...although...clearing out some bs today nonetheless.





Thickest Cycle stout I've ever had...no barrel. Combined with this year's disaster, it's an easy conclusion for me to come to that they should do way more non-BA stouts.

 

Finally picked up a single of this, pretty nice, really drinkable.

Very attractive deep amber gold color with white cap.

Clean aroma of sweet malt leaning toward caramel.

Taste on entry is just like it smells but richer, deeper and rounder. Simple and pleasing and this is what I get all the way to the aftertaste. Uncomplicated and pleasant.

WBAYDN #1969 1969 was a big year in my beer drinking life, I turned 18. You had to be 21 to buy beer in NJ but only 18 t0 buy it in NY. Many weekends started with a ride to Staten Island to load up with beer or cheap wine. All the beers we used to buy are GWTW these day's so I'll drink a SNPA and think about those days.
