    Had some operator head-space while having lunch at Phantom Canyon this afternoon. It seems I couldn't figure out how to cut-and-paste pictures between apps and services on the Android...ah, but I'm a relatively old fuck, so to hell with it....

    First off, Wall of Illusion, a smoked Munich-styled helles...pretty boring...



    Next was Sugar Spun Sister, a single malt, single hop (SMaSH) beer...really, really good...



    And last but not least, Ashy Larry, a barrel-aged stout with chilis...damn fine...



    And, yes, I still hate the makeover of the place, but the food (cod fish and chips today) and staff are still top notch - I would still recommend this place to Colorado Springs visitors)...

    And in keeping with my goal to beat the hell out of my liver today, I stopped by an excellent small brewery on the north side of Colorado Springs, Goat Patch Brewery...another one of those damn fine local locales...

    First, their triple IPA (worth springing for a crowler to take home)...



    ...and then their stout, another fine, balanced, flavorful offering...

    Nothing special, but a very nice Gose. Nice balance between sourness, spiciness and saltiness, but quite mild. A good "beginner's Gose".

    1972 was another milestone in my beer drinking. That was the year I turned 21 and was able to legally buy beer in NJ. The beer I brought the day I turned 21 is still being brewed to day by the same brewery although it has been reformulated. Drinking that beer now, Michelob a nice everyday lager.

    I like my rum and coconuts when I'm sitting on some tropical beach, I think it' called a Pina colada. This brew from CW ain't even close to that, but it's awfully good.
