What beer are you drinking now? #1978

I've been drinking a bunch of these this week. I'm taking tomorrow off to take the kids to the state park to dig for diamonds and later tonight a buddy is coming over to share some beers.

Austin Brothers Pineapple Mango Smoothie IPA


Brewed with Pineapple, Mango, Lactose and Vanilla.

 

We just finished the first round of shoveling the driveway. My wife's having tea. Not me.

 

Take it from an old timer. Get the better half addicted to wine so she will leave your beer alone. Strategy one, but be really cautious, is to suggest that beer has a lot of calories but wine has very llitte. You might want to wear your jock strap when you suggest this.

Saw a couple of flakes, to keep the streak alive, of 4 (5?) 1st days of Spring, with snow. Sometimes being on the cold side of it is a positive.

I took the same attitude Friday. Guess what? Some still left & I was a line of 1 today, just after opening. Mucccccchhh better.

Today, from their 1st canning (ever):
No explanation of the beer style, that I could find.
Sour cherry pie filling smell & flavor, similar to Ommegang Rosetta , but a little lighter,drier, and more tart. Nothing shocking that I noticed, but if you're not familiar with sour styles? I like it.


& yeah, that's a "P" . Maybe a different font was in order?


Meant to have this for NBS, but didn't feel like it Sunday. (Maybe Saturday had something to do with that? ) Wow! Can really smell it, from 6' away. JA apparently does ales as well as they do lagers.

 

Haven't had a Backwoods Bastard to date that hasn't been downright delicious, and this 2012 batch is no different.

 

Sand City/Interboro tasting damn fine after getting home a few hours early due to our supposed storm. I got a feeling it’s just starting.

This song in the snow = amazing.

 

Gnarly Barley Jucifer IPA along with one of my favorite meals that I only allow myself to eat 2-3 times per year. Two pieces spicy with red beans and rice and a carb loaded biscuit....

Sam Adams Kellerbier - had never seen it before and it is pretty good!

 

Needed something to spice up a dreary afternoon. I usually make a trip to the Texas Hill Country every Spring, but work has me tied down this year. Missing Texas something fierce.
