I am having a very good local IPA, Mosaic IPA from Community Brewing, Dallas, TX, ABV 8.60%, IBU 85. Sweet, fruity, and bitter, grapefruit, mango, and pine resin. It is well balanced, light and crisp, yet flavorful.

Funny story on this one...

My wife brought two mixed 6 packs of IPAs back from Memphis a month ago. I quickly sorted them into two groups: too old to review and review quickly while fresh. This one was stuck in the old by the assumption it was old or undated. Once I actually looked, I found it was bottled January 29th. It's funny how you can see a brand and immediately discount it. This turned out to be the thinnest bodied DIPA I've ever had and certainly not something I'd buy for myself.
I've picked up some good stuff in the last couple days. I should be drinking well in no time... Enjoy what's in your glass today friends!

 

We had plans for shopping this morning but the thunderstorm has rolled in so the hell with it . . .

Bayern Brewing Dump Truck Helles Maibock



Very attractive slightly hazy light gold color with white cap.

A nice floral aroma of Noble German hops (imported) with a hint of sweetness and a lightly fruity honeyness. I think the aroma is more hop than malt but it works.

Taste on entry is a refreshing fullness of flavor in a stronger version of the scents. IBU is 28 which doesn't really stand out as a flavor so much as sits on the back of the palate balancing against and leaning on the malts. I do get a sense of the honeyed sweetness noticed in the scent yet it presents as dryer in the flavor.
Clean, crisp, and refreshing without being light, this is fairly complex and beautifully balanced.

Texture is medium with balancing carbonation.

Very even handed approach here, layers of flavor began to build with each level being more complex. My first thought was a good, fresh German then an American twist on an Edelweiss theme. If I lived in the distribution area I'd buy this by the case.

 

Okay having a- gee no fucking way it can't be snowing again we just fucking lost the last bits of the last storm- coffee stout that is absolutely hitting the spot this morning. Damn good. Thanks, @richj1970 for another stellar libation!

Divin' right in...

Getting lotsa dank tropical orange right up front, kinda sticky shellac... chewy bitterness coats the tongue, fruit leather sweetness... soft and fluffy but coating... Very nice, but perhaps not my favorite Powder Dreams release, though its fair to say that too orange of an character can be something of a detractor for me... I'll have to see how it develops...

Tracking developments from Conor McGregor's bullshit; was looking forward to Khabib going for the title in UFC 223 tomorrow night, but Holloway isn't medically cleared (unrelated to injuries McGregor caused)... We'll see how all that pans out...

I wish I was as impressed with my new Maibock. Glad I only bought a single. Only Maibock I've seen in the stores here this spring...

Well, this day is gonna help me catch up on my beer drinking. Only about an inch of the white stuff but I wish everything looked green not white. Tasty brown ale, this.
