It's my tradition on the last day of the school year to pop an Uncle open and take many deep breaths. Absolutely love that moment in time!

Daily lager review. This was nice! Nice head retention and spotty soapy lacing on the glass. Aromas and flavors of cracker, white bread dough, lightly toasted biscuit, and light corn; with some herbal, grassy, light peppery hops. A touch of fruity aromas, but not overwhelming. Light-moderate herbal, grassy, spicy bitterness on the finish. Medium-high carbonation, medium body, and moderately crisp/clean finishing. Bready/grainy malts and some sticky hops in the mouthfeel. Light-moderate increasing bitter/carbonated dryness. Very flavorful/refreshing, 5%. Never watery. Perfectly clean lager flavors. Miller once again has the upper hand on the macro lagers. Very clean pale malt/grain flavors, and nice earthy hop presence for the style. Really nice barley presence, and not overdone on adjuncts at all. This was pretty hard to find fresh lol. 3.68


To Øl Sour mashed fruited Citra DIPA. This was awesome! Fantastic head retention and lasting thick lacing on the glass. Aromas and flavors of big juicy/tart/tangy grapefruit, lemon, orange, peach, papaya, passion fruit, apricot, mango, melon, guava, berry, citrus peel/zest, and light pepper/pine hops; with moderate wheat, cracker, white bready malts; herbal, floral, grassy hops; light lacto funk and yeast earthiness. Light-moderate pine/citrus peel bitterness, fruity/lactic tartness, and fruit tang on the finish. Medium carbonation and medium-plus body; balanced creamy/bready/grainy malt, sticky hops, acidity, and fruit tang/tannins in the mouthfeel. Light-moderate increasing bitter/acidic dryness. No pucker or hop astringency. Very drinkable, never overly aggressive/lactic. Minimal warming 9%. This is like an imperial Sur Citra with tropical/citrus fruit added. Super juicy hops/fruit, with a nice pale/wheat malt backbone against acidity. Extremely impressive! 4.13

Not a bad session, is this one of those "grocery store craft" beers? Kroger always has it in their mix a six section so I gave it a try.

 

The only reason we have the beanbag chair out on the deck is cuz the damn cat pissed on it when it was downstairs in the playroom, and we need to air it out. So look who's hanging in it.

 

Central Waters BA Stout 2016, still pretty good, though perhaps not quite as good as fresh.

 

In my search for more pizzazz I decided to hit the “Up” button.

 

First Veil beer tonight. Had two Tired Hands before this. It saddens me to say that I enjoyed the two Tired Hands just as much as the Veil.
