Cracking a 2018 50th Golden Anniversary Thomas Hardy's Ale. This one comes in at 13% ABV (up from 11% in previous years). I look forward to having one of these side-by-side with my 1993 Silver Anniversary bottle at some point. Cheers to all my fellow beer enthusiasts!

Sounds amazing! Being immersed in nature and sipping on a beer is the best combination.

Happy Saturday, BAs! So far I’m 0/2 on these Tired Hands “blend 2 beers together to make a new beer” brews. I enjoyed both of the base beers (Punge and Burden of Gratitude) much more than this Frankenstein concoction.

Jupiter is high in sky and I am outside in the dark backyard drinking Stone's Enjoy By Unfiltered IPA 07.04.18, ABV 9.4%. It's full of flavor, grapefruit, pineapple, quite a lot of pine resin, but more flavors; woody and something reminding me of garlic but not in a bad way. It is very good. The color is golden hazy with a white head (had in a glass before).

It's an ugly Saturday morning and I loaned out my car to haul some stuff so I can't go anywhere even if I could find the motivation to do so. Time to watch a Nick Cage movie in my bathrobe. I'm sure this will be great. Edit nvm the brewery was in Willowbrook.

Wait it's actually playing 47 minutes away in a theater in Woodridge IL? Didn't someone post from a brewery in Woodridge yesterday?

(wait... what? uh-huh. ok. got it.)

Apparently that was last week. Oh well.

A new brewery to me, grabbed a couple of their brews from my bottle shop yesterday. The blonde ale we had last night was a nice, light, balanced beer with a little character. This one is a Saison, Rocket Frog Croak at the Moon.

I like the blonde (Minotaur V) a little more, but this is another one that is a pretty nice representation of the style. Crisp and bubbly (even over a half day later), a little orchard fruit, hint of clove, little pepper. The Belgian yeast is a little subdued and maybe just missing a singular true identity, but not bad. Might need to visit the taproom soon.

Oh, and we have a new guard spider at the steps to our deck, apparently.

Another Garage brew, this time in collaboration with UK brewer Whiplash. This is similar to Soup in flavour profile actually, but nowhere near as good.
