Landed in Jackson Mississippi! First trip of the night was to LD's Beer Run. Cozy little store with a lot of selection, but...




their IPA's aren't rotated, chilled, or date checked. Breweries like Wiseacre do not can date so that was out of my control completely. I was able to buy a single of everything in that store, but I'd be mega pissed if I ended up getting a six pack of this way old almost barleywine-esque Ananda from Wiseacre. Not a good first experience. I had to dock them a bit on their store score friendly people though.

 

Cheers my LNBA brethren!!! Filled a half growler of Überbrew Space Wagon, 6.5% NEIPA brewed with Citra, Galaxy and El Dorado.

Trying my first Southern Prohibition beer on for size.



This one's pretty fresh (5/16/18, YAY can dating!). Got a few of these as the guys at the store touted it as morning OJ breakfast IPA. It doesn't quite come across like that to me, but it has some really interesting mint/evergreen notes among the orange peel and grapefruit. Very crisp all the way through. A little overpriced for what they go for, but still a decent beer overall. 3.92 out of 5.

 

So the Shipyard Hoppy Pride was putrid and I drain poured in. Not having anymore hoppy beers, I made the 30 second trip to my liquor store down the way and decided on a Maine Peeper. This store has no idea what they are doing, and the beer nerds (Raul) don’t hit it too much, so I thought there would be Lunch or Woods and Waters left - nope. Weighing my options, I still figuered this Peeper bottled in 3/20 is the best option. Let’s go:

Crankers coconut porter, double trouble by founders before that. Just a two beer night tonight, another 12 hour day tomorrow.
