As good a starter for quality and price as exists. Cheers
Howdy Sawdog and thanks for getting us started.
La Trappe - Quadrupel. 10%. It’s strong yet the alcohol is IMO well hidden. Delicious stuff.
Cheers! Thank you @smi69

Morning Hump-day BA's
Some coffee to start things off right
This downtown Cleveland new brewery is making some tasty brews!
Good morning and good afternoon BAs! Yesterday turned out to be a beautiful day here in NW PA - no rain until after I hit the sack. I had the yard shortened by 1200 - despite it being slightly damp, it only took two hours. Mrs. lizard got some more "stuff" done prior to our up-coming Scotland trip. We had supper with our son and still managed to get some more flowers planted before dark - overall, a fairly productive day! Hopefully, today will be more of the same!
Today's New Breakfast Beer:
I'm extremely pleased with this brew - despite the price point ($ 0.85/fl oz) it is an excellent drinking beer - I could easily swill a few bombers daily!
I'm trying to decide between righteously hoppy or richly malty and I may have to toss a coin.
Righteously hoppy won out . . .
Hazy light gold color with white cap and lacing.
Aroma of dank hops which is a term I rarely use but it fits here. I also get some hits of resin and something like grapefruit rind. No malt to speak of.
Taste is hop city which isn't surprising at 87 IBU. Don't know if I can taste hop levels that high but if I can this is my limit. Not flavor limit, I rather like it, just as far as my palate will wander in the hop shock department. I am noticing more grapefruit influence as the taste builds (and build it does) toward the finish. Surprisingly little bitterness for this hop level, I've had a much more bitter bite from lower IBU brews, and there seems to be a richness here to the hop intensity.
...and it's that time of year again, when a lot of us on the Front Range catch the apricot saison fever. This went really well with our omelet this morning...
Cumbre's Fievre d'Abricot... one of the few saisons I seek out on a regular basis. And the head retention on this was ridiculous...Cheers!
P.S. La Cumbre gets bonus points, too, for using French on their bottle. Makes it extra claaaasssyy...
Yesterday. Loaded with the first cut.
Pretty sure it's heavier this year.
Congrats, man, life will change... so get your sleep in now to build up your rest and strength for the next few years afterwards.
Long White Cloud from Tempest Brewing.
Congrats! As a father of 3, I can tell you it's going to be an amazing and rewarding ride!
A celebratory 25oz pour of Kane Head High at Newark Airport, in honor of @Socialillness and his exciting news. Congratulations!
La Trappe - Blonde.
@StoutSnob40 Missed the chance to answer on yesterdays threads, #1 in Europe is Akkurat in Stockholm, I think.
School is out!!!!! Hitting up Argilla for some pizza and their newest NEIPA Walk Softly, cheers!
One more before boarding. Short pour. I’m in a middle seat and the last thing I want to do is bother my aisle buddy. The older I get more I need to think about these things. Never used to be a worry.
If Kane Head High isn’t the perfect IPA then I don’t know what is. It’s sweet, dry, bitter, tropical and piney all at the same time.
with (almost) proper glassware
Congratulation to you both, cheers to a happy healthy pregnancy and birth.
Just got back from vacation with my wife and we are sharing this gem as we unpack. Reality returns as we head back to work tomorrow.
would have been my choice
