Let’s get this booze train running. About midnight here and I’m drinking an Old Rasputin which is hitting the spot. Saturday cheers BA crew.

Good morning BA, have a great Saturday! Supposed to be a scorcher out there this weekend. Going to be 96 today.

This was fantastic! Aromas and flavors of huge ruby red grapefruit, tangerine, orange juice, pineapple, lemon, peach, pear, apricot, passion fruit, papaya, mango, melon, guava, berry, citrus peel/zest, and light pepper/pine hops; with moderate wheat, biscuit dough, light honeyed malts; and herbal, floral, grassy hop earthiness. Light pine, citrus peel/zest, herbal, grassy, spicy bitterness on the finish. Medium carbonation and medium-plus body; creamy/bready malts and some sticky hops in the mouthfeel. Slight resins. Lightly increasing lingering bitter dryness, no hop astringency. Great soft feel for the style. Very drinkable for 7%. Great Galaxy, El Dorado, and Topaz hop showcase. Super juicy, vibrant, and lightly dank hops; nice malt backbone, not overly sweet/heavy. One of the rare cases where the aroma was better than the taste. Smelled like a fruit smoothie.

Incredible! I made sure to stock up last year. Got 1 more left. Flavors of huge dark chocolate, cocoa, caramel, molasses, fudge, spicy rye, dark bread, vanilla, toffee, bourbon, toasted oak, pecan nuttiness, licorice, raisin, fig, and light smoke/char. Light-moderate roast/char bitterness and bourbon/oak spiciness on the finish. Full bodied creamy, silky, velvety; and lightly slick, sticky, chalky mouthfeel. Lightly increasing roast/char dryness, never acrid/astringent. Dangerously smooth. Mildly warming and minimal booze for the ABV. This is a flat out amazing beer for the price. For being partial barrel aged, there is still plenty of barrel character going on. Big malt complexity, in combination with pecans and fruity yeast esters. The more recent batches were definitely better than the original 2013 they had released in overall complexity and barrel presence. Will be coming to 6 packs this year, which is great! Glad they keep making it every year.

Amazing as usual this year. Aromas and flavors of huge mango, melon, peach, pineapple, apricot, passion fruit, papaya, guava, berry, grapefruit, tangerine, lemon zest, orange peel, citrus rind, pepper, and pine hops; with moderate honey and spicy rye bread malt balance; and herbal, floral, grassy hops earthiness. Good sized pine, citrus rind, herbal, grassy, spicy bitterness on the finish. Medium-plus bodied with balanced bready/grainy malts and sticky/resin/rindy hops in the mouthfeel. Moderate increasing resin/rind dryness, minimal hop astringency. Very mildly warming ABV, dangerously smooth. Insane dankness across the board. This is basically just imperial Born Yesterday IMO, very similar if not the same hops. Ekuanot, Galaxy, Simcoe, and Mosaic was the first batch, probably similar here. This has all of the same dankness at a much higher ABV, while remaining well attenuated and not overly sweet for over 11.3%. Mosaic and Ekuanot are my favorite hops.

This is amazing! Flavors of big grapefruit, tangerine, peach, pineapple, apricot, passion fruit, papaya, mango, melon, berry, citrus peel/rind, pepper, and pine hops; with balanced caramel, toffee, brown sugar, bourbon, charred oak, and brown bread sweetness; with lighter notes of coconut, vanilla, and herbal/floral/grassy hop earthiness. Moderate pine, citrus rind, herbal, grassy, peppery bitterness; and light-moderate bourbon/oak tannin spiciness on the finish. Medium carbonation and medium-full body; balanced creamy/bready malts, sticky/resinous/rindy hops, and bourbon/oak tannins in the mouthfeel. Moderate increasing bitter/resin/tannic dryness. Lightly increasing warmth of 12.2%, mild barrel booziness lingering after the finish. Completely exceeded all expectations. Huge juicy and dank Chinook, Mosaic and Simcoe hop complexity from reDANKulous; awesome malt balance and barrel integration. Not overly sweet for the ABV. LIked it a lot more than the base beer too. Feels more dank than I remember, even with the barrel aging. I bought 3 packs, wonder how they will age.
