Today I take the dog to the vet for a pre-travel exam, then to the groomer for a "beauty treatment."
Vacation starts tomorrow, how about a IPA dry hopped with Topaz and Citra to start this beautiful Thursday? Cheers Doc @lordofthewiens to you and Jill’s new adventure.
Today is one of those very very rare "middle of the week" days that I've not got to be at work. (Too complicated to go into here.)
To celebrate I'm starting the day off with a Luau Krunkles from Terrapin. This is a IPA with lots of fruit flavors. There's tropical fruit, some orange and orange zest riding on a noticable but not cloying malt backbone and with a finish that is nicely dry, spicy, fruity and bitter.
I am doing some yardwork, before it gets too hot.
I slept in this morning...coffee time:
It’s already 82.2 degrees and 72% humidity on the back patio, fairly normal hot sunny day here in the low country. Cheers from Summerville SC!
I am drinking Serrata a Saison from Jester King, Austin, TX, brewed with red Shiso, a Japanes spice, ABV 5.60%. It is difficult to place the taste and the fairly aggressive aroma, grassy, floral, cinnamon, tart-lemony, maybe a little bit of licorice, definitely great with sushi. The spice is a little bit much but I still like it, it's nice, but I think I would like it better in soup or on sashimi.
nice pale very soft almost creamy
then out to darts
Good morning BA
Drinking a classic...
I found out on my tour that this is the beer Ken Grossman homebrewed for his wedding reception. It is also the first beer produced by Sierra Nevada once they put together their first production brewery. They dumped the first 10 batches because Ken didn't believe it was consistent enough to sell. Some of my local brewers should take a note. Cheers all!
Brilliant cherry apple color with pinkish cap and lace.
Aroma bursting with ripe apple, cherry and cranberry.
Flavor is a combination of the scents writ large. Apple provides the body, cherry the richness and cranberry the tartness with both apple and cherry adding sweetness. All well knit together and beautifully balanced.
Medium texture with balancing carbonation.
Altogether a Goldilocks beer that's just right. I do get an airy citrus, almost lemony presence that I suspect is the underlying beer and I don't know if there are other berry/fruits in the mix but if there are the add to rather than detract from the whole.
2 cars in this week for major $ervice - waiting mine out til I have to walk back into town again -
I worked on a pretty nice commercial shoot for the past couple of days in Bear Mountain State Park - the 'higher-ups' couldn't find a suitable log in the forest for this shot - so we brought one in - hundreds of pounds of log to be humped into the woods - it looked like a telephone pole before I dressed it out with moss and stuff - the leaves below are covering crash pads in case this kid fell - he didn't - it had to be cut up and taken out when we were done - Show Biz !! - maybe on the next job I can bring sand to the beach -
and we actually brought in a fake boulder to this location...
What a banger:
Early beer after an early bike ride out to the lake.
Another gorgeous day here in Freiburg. Getting hot again after a few days of mid-70's. Trying this for the first time. I'm a sucker for big BA barley wines, and this clocks in at 14.5% ABV. This is an Italian (Brew Fist) barley wine fermented with saison yeast and aged for one year in marsala wine barrels. Cheers!
Two weeks until we start our move. Time to drink down my stash of beer.
Sticking with the Lagunitas
Great beer from Canada. Cheers!

I am very happy that this beer is in 6-packs! I only had it once, 3 years ago. This beer is delicious!
Steins are for drinking! This canned Heineken is really ok. Best before dates are a year after packaging so be cautious. My vacation ended yesterday and nightshifts start tonight. Cheers all and enjoy the beer in your hand!
Good morning! Only 90 degrees so far in Las Vegas, so enjoying one of my very favorite beers and the 2018 is quite good. The Wheat-Rye/Pecan combo is just outstanding. Will have to get more to keep my 2015, 2016s company. Cheers!
Tis a fine day
Yuengling is the best big brand beer that I know of. I have consumed my fair share over the years.
Beer Hates Astronauts.
A beautiful day in Cape May:
Get you some Narragansett and/or Hamm's.

Jai Alai. Purchased in Wisconsin. And since I am focused in quality from Florida, rest in peace to Bret Hoffmann, frontman of Malevolent Creation, one of the greatest death metal bands.
Hate to admit it but I used to drink a lot of Rhinelander-blech !

Up in Denver for tonight's Yob/Bell Witch show and enjoying an early beer at Comrade, their Superpower IPA.
Here is another succulent offering from CCB. This would not taste as good if the weather right now did not feel like I was in Florida.
Really digging this latest one from them. I feel like have been saying that for maybe 15 years now..
It also wouldn't taste as good if you didn't have such good music blasting in the background.
