What Beer Are You Drinking Now? #2106

Scorching hot around here, so lets have one of these:

 

Who would've thought a barrel toting bear would be a welcome sight . . .




Shimmering hazy light gold color with bountiful cap and lacing.

Aroma of yeasty sweet roll with dried fruit and spiced with a combination of cinnamon and clove.

Taste is of slightly tart sweet malt dusted with the spices listed above then baked with a mixture of peach, apricot and citrus zest, served up together mixed in the same dish. I could say more but I would be repeating myself.

 

Post-breakfast beer from Barrier and Magnify...

Dry hopped 7.4% abv IPA featuring Citra, Galena, and Simcoe hops; canned 7/17...

Omnipollo vs. BrewDog - I WANNA BE YOUR DOG. Good ol' NOA barrel aged in bourbon barrels.

 

I dont always drink beer in the morning, but when I do I drink a coffee stout.

Vacation is almost over, gotta love it up while I still can, right? May be one of those days.

 

Checking out this release from Southern Tier...

8.5% abv DIPA, canned 6/27; can says, "unfiltered... brewed with mango, tropical hops, & lactose," "episode four of six," and, "best when inverted before opening..." Tropical fruits and floral aromas predominate the nose, with the expected mango front and center on the sip; but the beer avoids being too juicy-sweet, as the mango shows its green, unripened side, lending the taut bitterness from its skin to balance the sweeter fruitiness that could otherwise be too cloying (for me, at least)... The feel is predictably smooth, medium-weight... Reminds me of, like, the mango version of Pumking... I'm digging it...

 

Can release at 450 North in Columbus, IN today and couldn't pass up the opportunity since we were in town.



Slushy XL for my wife (an 8% Imperial Berliner) and Piece of Cake Imperial Stout (10%) for mwha. Thing 1 is spending time with his grandparents right now. Mom and dad are at Beer Disney. Everybody wins.
