Having my favorite AAL out of a nice glass from my hometown, waiting for some friends to get over here.

Perhaps this is better suited for the 90 degree day:

Another cut from “Fear Of Music”. The guitarist in the yellow shirt is Adrian Belew. He's played live with Frank Zappa, David Bowie, and Nine Inch Nails. He's also recorded with Peter Gabriel. That's some resume!

Modern Times MT5 DIPA, possibly their best yet. Drinking to celebrate MT's 5th Anniversary, and to mourn the loss of a whole lot of Beer Karma due to the new algorithm. Even after the reset, I'm back to being a mere Champion.

I saw Nantucket at a small club in Salisbury NC and as a opening act for someone in the Charlotte when that album came out. The guitar player wore a black leather trench coat and would spit up in the air then catch it in his hair.:astonished: I think I may have the album, if my brother didn't steal it from me. I thought they were destined for bigger things myself.

Excellent pale ale as usual this year. Fantastic head retention and lasting thick soapy lacing on the glass. Aromas and flavors of big tangerine, peach, grapefruit, pineapple, lemon, passion fruit, mango, melon, berry, citrus peel/rind, light pepper, and pine hops; with moderate cracker, lightly toasted bread, light honeyed malt balance; and herbal, floral, grassy hop earthiness. Light-moderate pine, citrus peel/rind, herbal, grassy, spicy bitterness on the finish. Medium carbonation, light-medium body, and moderately crisp finishing. Balanced bready/grainy malts and sticky hops in the mouthfeel. Light resins/rinds, moderate increasing bitter dryness, no hop astringency. Very flavorful/refreshing, 5.5%. Not overly aggressive. Very vibrant and fairly dank/earthy hop complexity; nice bready malt back bone, with no residual sweetness from lingering dryness. One of my favorite seasonals. Probably Simcoe, Columbus, Centennial as with 51K, but different ratios. More heavy on the Simcoe.

2014 rum barrel I randomly got in a trade recently. This was awesome, held up really well. Awesome head retention/lacing for the ABV. Aromas and flavors of big raisin, plum, prune, fig, cherry, date, molasses, toffee, caramel, cinnamon, nutmeg, clove, ginger, brown sugar, brown bread, chocolate, cocoa, toasted oak, spiced rum, and herbal spice/yeast earthiness. Light herbal/roast bitterness and rum/oak tannin spiciness on the finish. Medium carbonation and medium-full body; creamy/bready malts; light slickness, sticky spice, chalky roast, and oak tannins in the mouthfeel. Lightly increasing lingering spicy/tannin dryness; no cloying. Minimal warming 8.75%, zero barrel booze. Outstanding balance of rich dark/bready malts, spices, fruity English yeast, and rum barrel flavors. Nothing overwhelming at all. Hope they make this again some day.

I figured as much- you too!

Posting it on a Friday helped . Maybe next time just put two bottles in one hand and a big honkin' mug in the other, it'll be easier for me to spot that way :grin:.

Shared one with the wife, then moved on to a couple that were a bit too sour for her.

    We started with Tesla.

Nice, never had a wheat lager before. I like Sixpoint.

Then I had Tropic Punch Ale, which she wanted nothing to do with. Pretty sour and not the greatest.

Took her glass and let her try Jammer... she didn't like it so I topped it off and it myself.

For those who follow... my glass is always to the left of the beer container, hers is on the right (as you look at it). I'm kind of OCD that way. Just like I always take at least 5 pics to make sure at least one has great focus - unless I need to adjust the logo angle on a glass. Then I take more.

ACTUALLY, I don't have OCD. I have CDO. Which is like OCD, but with the letters in alphabetical order AS THEY SHOULD BE.:stuck_out_tongue::sunglasses:
