Had another ML and got some of Abita’s Big Easy IPA. This IPA is hitting the spot.

I received a box from @CanConPhilly today. The only contents were this beer, wrapped in 17 pounds of lettuce. Just as I requested.

 

Having the same-as @GreenBayBA knows, this is not my go to style But I thought it was good, and canned yesterday. From what I understand the owner has been convinced to make a barleywine which is not a style he is enamored w. I look forward to that as their stouts have been very nice.

 

I completely understand.

I may keep asking though.

Daughter #2 is stealing my beer! She starts the night off drinking wine. Ends with beer. I am the opposite. Maybe I should have a DNA test done.

The only beer that I can picture being better than a peaches and cream hazy IPA, would be a steak and eggs barleywine.

 

Trillium Georges Island. I guess they ran out of Boston streets. Not complaining as this is just as well made as every other Trillium beer I have had. Cheers!!!

Awesome fruit IPA. Great head retention and dense soapy lacing on the glass. Aromas of big lightly tart/tangy peaches, apricot, fruit skin, lemon, lime, tangerine, grapefruit, pear, pineapple, passion fruit, papaya, mango, watermelon, guava, berries, citrus peel/zest, and light pepper/pine hops; with moderate toasted bread, light honey/caramel malts; and herbal, floral, grassy hop earthiness. Light pine, citrus peel/rind, herbal, floral, grassy, peppery bitterness; and slight fruit tang/tartness on the finish. Medium carbonation/body; balanced creamy/bready malts and sticky hops in the mouthfeel; light resins/rinds, and slight fruit tang. Lightly increasing lingering bitter dryness, no hop astringency. Very smooth, not aggressive, minimal warming 7.8%. Great hop profile as expected of Azacca, Citra, El Dorado, and Motueka. Great balance of juicy hops/fruit, with some dank/earthy notes; nice bready malt backbone, with mild residual sweetness. Would grab more singles. 4.1


Canadian barleywine. This was fantastic. Amazing lasting head retention and thick soapy lacing the whole glass. Aromas and flavors of big golden raisin, grapefruit, orange, peach, plum, pear, apricot, nutty coffee, caramel, brown sugar, toffee, maple syrup, vanilla, bourbon, toasted oak, brown bread, and biscuit; with lighter notes of coconut, molasses, white chocolate, cocoa, pine, herbal, floral, grass, pepper, and yeast earthiness. Touch of booze in the aromas as it warms, but not overwhelming. Light-moderate pine, citrus peel/zest, herbal, floral, grassy, peppery bitterness; and light bourbon/oak tannin spiciness on the finish. Medium carbonation and medium-full body; very creamy/bready/grainy malts; some sticky hops and bourbon/oak tannins in the mouthfeel. Light-moderate increasing lingering bitter/tannin dryness, no cloying/astringency. Mildly increasing warmth of 11.8%, with minimal barrel booze after the finish. Super spot on for the American style! Amazing balance of maple syrup, coffee, citrus/earthy hops, bourbon barrels, and dark/bready malts; not overly sweet/heavy from lingering dryness. Would buy again. 4.23
