One of my favorites. One of these days I'm gonna pour this right next to a Backwoods Bastard and a Sprecher Commando and see how they compare, and see how I feel the next morning.

 

Just re-read 1984, oddly seemed fitting to me.

I’ve never had the real thing from down south, but a nice peppery spice that builds on this fairly dark roux:


It might suck compared to the real thing but it might not. I don’t care. Modelo Especial in the glass.

 

A touch on the sweet side but I'll buy some more of this.

Through a family scheduling quirk, I find myself with a super rare opportunity for a few on a Friday afternoon. Found my way to Cap Ale Midlo where i was pleased to find a local Cascadian on the draught list -

Black from Reason Brewing



Quick question though, is that the proper glass for the style? Feels like its not, but I rarely go to bars anymore so perhaps this is the new teku? I’m not trying to be a snooty jerk, so really, if it’s correct, please let me know. And no, I’m not going to complain. Enjoying this beer regardless of vessel choice.

Wheat and Potatoes by Banded. I really don't know how the hell these guys did this with wheat and potatoes but the end result is a pretty good session IPA at 4.1%
