Now moving on to a Jailbreak Van Dammit!

 

Delicious marzen! Great head retention/spotty lacing on the glass. Flavors of big brown sugar, brown bread/crust, toasted biscuit, nutty, and light caramel malts; with mild herbal, floral, grassy, peppery hops. Similar/muted aromas, a bit of fruity notes, but not overwhelming. Mild herbal, floral, grassy, spicy bitterness on the finish. Medium carbonation/body; creamy/bready/grainy malts, and light sticky hops in the mouthfeel. Lightly increasing lingering bitter dryness. No cloying. Perfectly clean lager flavors, no yeasty notes. Very smooth, 5.6%. Other that the lacking aromas, I loved it. Very clean and rich Pils/Munich malt complexity, with mild earthy hop balance against sweetness. Spot on style. 3.88


Randomly got last years vintage in recently. This was amazing! Lasting head retention and thick soapy lacing the whole glass. Aromas and flavors of huge milk/dark chocolate, nutty medium roast coffee, caramel, brown sugar, vanilla, toffee, bourbon, coconut, toasted oak, and dark/brown bread; with lighter notes of molasses, licorice, dark fruit, peat smoke, leather, tobacco, and herbal hops. Very slight booze in the aromas as it warmed. Very mild herbal/roast/char bitterness and bourbon/oak tannin spiciness on the finish. Light-medium carbonation and fairly full body; with a very creamy, silky, and velvety mouthfeel that is fantastic. Slight sticky hops, chalky char/roast, and bourbon/oak tannins. Slightly increasing lingering bitter/tannin dryness. No cloying/acrid flavors. Dangerously smooth sipping, mildly increasing warmth of 12%, with zero barrel booze. They absolutely nailed this out of the park. Not as smokey as I expected given Undead Party Crasher though. Insanely balanced rich malts, vanilla, and fruity/nutty coffee complexity; with perfect barrel integration. Not boozy or tannic. Yea definitely worth another buy! Already 10 months old. 4.38
