    Couldn't agree more on your write up of Double Bastard: Bigger, Longer, and Uncut - I couldn't believe how so many people hated that one, it's such a fantastic beer! Polarizing, but fantastic.

    Im not the biggest fan of the base beer (aged or fresh) yet I love that beer. Something about it being barrel aged makes it just great. :beers:

    Deep, clear amber gold color with good white cap and lacing.

    Aroma of caramel, toffeeish malt with a clean wisp of floral hops.

    Nice malty flavor upfront sprinkled with a touch of hop spice. Very even malt flavor that manages to be deep like it contains some darker malt yet is completely absent of any roasted malt bitterness. Hops play a part but it's a diminutive role being present without assertive. Clean finish with a dry resolve.

    Medium texture with balancing carbonation.

    Good effort here and a solid score. Rich malt is the main thing and it remains on tract without branching off into sweetness or roasty bitterness, very straight forward and true to course.
