Vintage 2011

Very perfumey, musky oak, dark/light fruit, caramel, toffee, spiced rum, wine like finish.

 

There are a lot of good IPAs here in the northwest. This is one of my favourites. Working through a sixpack with my former roommate, reminscing before I move to the midwest tomorrow morning.

Ah... It's a bittersweet moment as the beer is fantastic--but it's the last of my Italy mementos.

Forgot to take a pic of the '11 Parabola, drinkin is impairin my photo skills. Here is the BORIS we are on right now. BA version to follow, and then some manhattans with aged rye, oh yea.

 

Ft. Fletcher IPA from LB Brewing, then on to Tallgrass Ethos and 8-bit. in for a hop storm. Down to the storm cellar.

 

After first passing on this and going with a Stone Espresso Stout, I had to go for it:

 

Peche Mortel for the first time. Nice!

 

May be my favorite IPA.

 

First time trying this.

Oh yeah...

Charred meat, smoky, espresso, bitter dark chocolate, zero sweetness. mouthfeel is perfection: super thick and oily, coating the palate. num nums...

 

Birthday beer. I still think Rochefort 10 and Abt. 12 blow this out of the water...

 

The 4 of us finished off death by stout with this.



Now the whiskey!

 

An infected bottle of Laughing Dog Dogzilla Black IPA. This is the first absolutely positive infected bottle I've had that's relatively fresh and unexpected. Should I notify the media? Mayhap the brewery?

 

Corona has its place.

 

Yeah, like when you're house sitting for your parents and you raid their fridge to find only Corona like I did an hour ago. Half a lemon was used to make it interesting.
