2014 dark ale by Unibroue (sold through Trader Joe's). This seems most like Trois Pistoles, hence the glass. Love this beer! Cheers!

[IMG] I've never had the privilege of getting to taste any Treehouse or Trillium, or anything of the likes, and unfortunately probably won't any time soon, but this....this is something else. Creamy as all hell. This is a work of art. Get it if you can. If anyone would like to trade for something they'd like to share, I'd be happy to hook them up with a can. Goodnight everybody. Cheers.

I found this one very similar to Orval, which is strange, as they're not the same style. Very 'leathery', wild, green apple, a bit like cider. Good but not the best Tripel I've had.

I'm not usually a lager drinker but this beer kicks ass.

Sweet without being too sweet, has a great toasted bread finish, and pounds effortlessly without being watery or empty. 4 out of 5.

My go-to Fall brown ale, always excellent. Aromas and flavors of caramel, brown sugar, brown bread, toasted biscuit, toffee; and lighter chocolate, cocoa, and nutty malts; with some herbal, grassy, peppery, citrusy hops. Touch of dark fruit. Light herbal, grassy, spicy hop and roast bitterness on the finish. Medium bodied with a really great creamy/bready mouthfeel. Light hop stickiness, chalky roast, and increasing dryness. Touch silky. No cloying/astringency. Really great malt complexity and mouthfeel; and not as hoppy or drying as most American Browns. Has a bit of an English brown feel to it as well. Great balance. I had to revisit my review a couple years ago. Much more impressive than I remembered initially; but all style appreciation levels have come into proper alignment. Been buying all cans when possible lately! Will get another pack eventually.

Awesome imperial red. Aromas and flavors of big grapefruit, mandarin orange, lemon, peach, pineapple, apricot, mango, melon, citrus peel/rind, light pepper, and pine hops; with balanced caramel, brown sugar, toffee, toasted biscuit, light nutty/roasted malt sweetness; and herbal, floral, grassy hop earthiness. Light-moderate pine, citrus peel/rind, herbal, floral, grassy, peppery bitterness on the finish. Medium carbonation and medium-full body; balanced creamy/bready/grainy malts, sticky hops, and light resins/rinds in the mouthfeel. Light-moderate increasing lingering bitter dryness, no hop astringency. Very smooth, minimal warming 8.7%. Great classic Amarillo/Columbus profile. Very juicy and fairly dank/earthy hop complexity; great balanced dark/biscuity malt backbone, mild residual sweetness with lingering dryness. Hope we keep seeing more fresh OB now, we just got a new distributor for them finally. Powers is still the worst in the state, they had them previously.

Moderate pour yields a one inch tan head over a dark brown body with sticky lacing that stays put. Muted nose of dark roasted malt, slight chocolate, slighter coffee, and even slighter dark fruit. Taste of bitter chocolate, dark roast coffee, a bit of molasses, and slight burnt espresso on the finish. Nice feel and overall, a pretty tasty stout. Cheers!
