About 30 plus years ago, Richmond did have a farm hockey team. I think the name was the Richmnond Rifles but that may be wrong. I usually drank to much beer at the meets so .....

 

Game #1 is tonight. Beer #2 is happening already. A couple from the northeast...


Hoping for clearer actual weather than the forecast predicts. I guess I’ll root for the home team tonight. I mean I really don’t like how much the Dodgers paid to get to the World Series.

It’s much too low a price for a championship.

 

I'm having this saison. I think it's the first beer I've had from Zero Gravity. It is hitting all my buttons for a saison. Very nice!

Mystic American Cosmonaut NEDIPA 8.5% canned 9/28/18. Poured into a 16 oz tulip glass, pours a hazy yellow orange, with a 2 finger sticky white head that leaves thin rings of lace behind. 4

Smell is apricot, mellon, peach, and hints of grapefruit. 3.75

Taste follows apricot leads with peach, honey dew, and a little grapefruit. 3.75

Mouthfeel is a big medium, gentle carbonation, not dry but a tad sticky, and goes down easy at 8.5%. 4

Overall this one was just o.k for me, something about the after taste wasn’t great maybe the peach part. 3.75

 

Well played but sometimes it works in reverse. When I get a new beer, I ask my wife to taste it to let me know what she thinks. Well, sometimes she likes it so much she wants to split the pint.

They had a team in the ECHL many years ago. I don’t recall the Rifles (I want to say Renegades but I’ll have to look it up). Big rivals of the Roanoke Lancers/Express back when they existed, as well.

I really liked that beer! It is exactly what it should be and nothing more.

 

The leaves ain't bad, either.

I was too curious. I had to google it. I was afraid maybe my dementia started way too long ago.

They were an ice hockey team. Lasted all of 1979 -1981. Went to a few meets with my neighbor. Of course the goal (no pun intended) was to get out of the house and away from our wives and kids. And of course to drink beer and act like asses.

I got laid off a number of years ago. I was 59 and had disabilities no employer would want to deal with. Not to mention I am an old fuck. At the time, it was devastating. Ended well though. In retrospect, I am glad it happened.
