Awesome DIPA, haven't had this in 4 years. Aromas and flavors of big tangerine, grapefruit, lemon, peach, pear, pineapple, apricot, passion fruit, papaya, mango, melon, citrus peel/rind, peppercorn, wood, mint, and pine hops; with moderate lightly toasted bread, light caramel malts; and herbal, floral, grassy hop earthiness. Good sized pine, citrus peel/rind, herbal, floral, woody, grassy, peppery bitterness on the finish. Medium carbonation and body; balanced bready/grainy malts and sticky/risinous/rindy hops in the mouthfeel. Moderate increasing resins dryness, mild lingering hop astringency. This feels way more aggressive than I remember, but still impressive. Nice Chinook, Cascade, Centennial, Galaxy profile. Very juicy, vibrant, dank, and earthy balanced hop complexity; nice bready malt backbone, no residual sweetness from crisp resin drying. Would get more singles.

Incredible as usual. This was my last 2017. Flavors of huge dark chocolate, cocoa, caramel, molasses, fudge, spicy rye, dark bread, vanilla, toffee, bourbon, toasted oak, pecan nuttiness, licorice, raisin, fig, and light smoke/char. Light-moderate roast/char bitterness and bourbon/oak spiciness on the finish. Full bodied creamy, silky, velvety; and lightly slick, sticky, chalky mouthfeel. Lightly increasing roast/char dryness, never acrid/astringent. Dangerously smooth. Mildly warming and minimal booze for the ABV. This is a flat out amazing beer for the price. For being partial barrel aged, there is still plenty of barrel character going on. Big malt complexity, in combination with pecans and fruity yeast esters. The more recent batches were definitely better than the original 2013 they had released in overall complexity and barrel presence. Looking forward to seeing how the 2018 batch stacks up.

I am having desert for breakfast, courtesy of @goingbrokeonbeer! Thank you, sir! This beer is rather spicy and intense, so it is the perfect candidate for me to debut my new bottle capper. @scream finally convinced me to buy one.

A fine and powerful cup of coffee to start off the day...

Being back in Ohio for a visit has some great advantages. Breakfast at Bob Evans and Jackie O's 'Coffee Bourbon Barrel Oil of Aphrodite'. The beer comes in at 12.1% ABV and nicely blends balanced and tasty aspects of bittersweet chocolate, some bourbon heat and flavor, with a gentle presence of black coffee.

Drinking Bourbon Barrel aged Scotch Ale from Central Waters in Amherst, Wisconsin. This scotch sle pours a dark brown color, with a very small, lacing head. Big sharp aroma, lots of malts, bourbon and oak. Taste is also very big, boozy and warm, with sharp malt flavors, mixed with bourbon and scotch notes. Good body and feel. Overall, its a very big, boozy beer. Fantastic beer! [IMG]

I call this 8 ounces of success. With my new bottle capper, I am going to save the other 4 ounces for a barleywine emergency.

Fantastic Milkshake NEIPA as expected. Aromas and flavors of big tart/tangy raspberries, fruit skin/seeds, tangerine, orange juice, grapefruit, lemon, peach, pear, pineapple, apricot, passion fruit, papaya, mango, melon, guava, blueberry, citrus peel/zest, and light pepper/pine hops; with moderate vanilla, cream, honey, brown sugar, wheat, white bread dough malt sweetness; and herbal, floral, grassy hop earthiness. Light pine, citrus peel/zest, herbal, floral, grassy, peppery bitterness; and berry tang/tartness on the finish. Medium carbonation and medium-plus body; very creamy/silky/bready malts; light sticky hops, fruit tang/acids, and slight resins in the mouthfeel. Lightly increasing lingering bitter/tart dryness, no cloying/astringency. Very smooth/soft, minimal warming 8.6%. A bit more drying than some others in the series. Extremely juicy and lightly dank/earthy Mosaic hop/fruit complexity; great balanced vanilla/sugar/malt backbone. Not overly sweet/heavy from lingering bitter/tart dryness. This had more berry presence than the other berried cream pops.

Fantastic RIS as always, haven't had this in a while. Been having the BBA more often. 1 YO. Flavors of huge dark chocolate, cocoa, coffee, caramel, molasses, raisin, plum, prune, cherry, fig, date, smoke, char, nuts, toasted dark bread, leather, tobacco, and herbal/pepper/piney hops. Light-moderate roast, char, herbal, peppery, piney bitterness on the finish. Light-medium carbonation and full body; very creamy, silky, bready malts; some sticky hop, and chalky char/roast in the mouthfeel. Light-moderate increasing hop/char bitter dryness, minimal acrid/astringency. Very smooth, minimal warming 10.5%. For being a year round shelf sitter, I should get this way more often. Completely spot on style. Perfectly balanced rich black/roasted malts, fruity yeast, and earthy hops.

Joining @Jlabs with an Other Half Short, Dark and Handsome with Peanut Butter and Milk Chocolate while watching some premier league. A perfect breakfast stout.

If this beer were named after me it would be called Average Height and White. The handsome part is debatable depending on who you ask.

Hey, I finally know an artist posted by @superspak thanks to @GreenBayBA !

I am having a friendly stout today, "Consider Yourself Hugged", an Imperial Stout with Peanut Butter Roasted Coffee, ABV 11.90%. The flavor is roasted malts, peanut butter, chocolate and coffee, and some alcohol. It reminds me of a peanut butter chocolate bar and lots peanuts. If you don't like peanuts, then it would probably be too peanutty but I like it. It is very good.

Classic breakfast after a great workout. Checking in to the local JW this afternoon for a weekend of hijinks with the wife and no kids.

    Good morning BA
Starting off with this one today...

I finally broke down and ordered some Belgian style beers online along with two more Trappist chalices. Also completed my first trade this week. After happening across CBS yesterday, I'm sitting on around 40 new to me beers. They can't all be NBS beers, so here I am. Have a great Saturday BA!
