Back to work tomorrow and errands are done for today. Rewarding myself with one of many Belgian style beers in the fridge...

Listed as a Belgian Strong Dark Ale here it's probably more of a dubbel. Delicious regardless and worth trying out. Cheers all!

Been on Sierra Nevada all last week. Going thru a classic kick. Lagunitas IPA on deck.

Found this album at goodwill and I cant stop listening to it. @Greywulfken back in the day I sewed all these thrash bands on the vest that I cut the sleeves off so idk how I missed out on these guys this whole time

 

Always like the Wizard, a tad more bitter than I remember, but excellent.

 

Collision Bend - 8 Crazy Nights (can).. it's a winter ale brewed with apples, honey and cinnamon.. cheers!

Pushing 9pm here...nightcap - “Silky Stout” by Loch Lomond Brewery, Alexandria, Scotland:



Chocolate black licorice burnt coffee nose. Taste is cocoa nibs, roast coffee. Nice!

 

Henhouse / Social The Third Volume - 6.5% Brut IPA with El Dorado, Strata and Hallertau Blanc. Canned 2018-11-19.

I know most haven't cared for the style, but I'd argue it's because you never tried one from the creators of it - Social Kitchen & Brewing. I love how they've partnered with a number of Bay Area breweries to make one, and so far those are the most successful of the ones I've tried.

That being said... although this beer is fine, I think the hop combination isn't really to my liking? It's definitely growing on me as I'm down to the last sips of the can but I was a little confused drinking it initially. It's sorta fruity, and sorta herbal. This is a style that due to the downplaying of the malt backbone, is all about the hop showcase (in a very different way than NEIPA - far more subtle). I've got another can to make up my mind, but right now this is fine... but not an immediate hit.

Back from walking the mutts and getting ready to light the coals. Back porch drinking my bargain favorite on a beautiful 60 degree day.

 

Benchtop Birthday Velour (milk stout with vanilla, beets + raspberries)

 

Just got home from a four day (Shiva, Wedding, and 2 Funerals) vacation. Made it back in time to get a 4-pack of the latest Skadoosh from The Alchemist. They were down to just a couple cases!
