What Beer Are You Drinking Now? #2243

At Bow & Arrow, a Buffalo Plaid Baltic Porter and Dream Mesa Golden Sour with Brett.

Drinking the Baltic Porter first, starts of with rich chocolate cake, closes out with bittersweet dark chocolate and some coffee roast.

 

How is it? I missed the brewery release because of a wrestling tournament.

 

With no work tomorrow and a return to beer after a break partly enforced by a course of medication that is known to not play well with alcohol I'm enjoying a Yard's Rival IPA. The flavor/aroma profile is much as remembered with some citrus and a light touch of pine backed up by a bit of sweetness from the light bready rye and caramel malt. There's also some light but noticeably spicy and slightly resinous bitterness in the finish. (Maybe this evening I'll be having a couple of bottles of this beer that have been sitting patiently in the fridge since I got the 6 pack about 2 Mos. ago.)

 

A quick 2-and-done tonight. I can smell the dank from across the room with this guy. Cheers all.

CBS 2018, figured I better have it since it's been in the back of the fridge for a month. Still fine.

 

Excellent NEIPA. Awesome head retention/soapy lacing. Aromas and flavors of big mandarin orange juice, grapefruit, lemon, peach, pear, pineapple, apricot, passion fruit, papaya, mango, melon, berries, white grape/wine, citrus peel/zest, wood, and light peppercorn/pine hops; with moderate wheat, biscuit dough malts; and herbal, floral, grassy hop earthiness. Mild pine, citrus peel/zest, herbal, floral, grassy, woody, peppery bitterness on the finish. Medium carbonation/body; creamy/silky/grainy/bready wheat and light sticky hops in the mouthfeel. Lightly increasing lingering bitter dryness, no cloying/astringent. Very smooth/soft, 6.5%. Awesome Mosaic, Hallertau Blanc profile. Very juicy and lightly dank/earthy hops; great wheat/malt balance; mild residual sweetness with lingering dryness. Spot on stuff all the way. 4.03

Thank you, @Ocalafox, for this tasty IPA! I went jogging last night, and as I passed by the woods, there was a strange light. My headphones stopped playing music. I felt a strange gravitational pull towards the woods, so I started sprinting. My headphones started playing music again, and rest of the journey was uneventful, but that was weird.

 

Ommegang blonde ale,pictures a little faded and fuzzy but so am I tonight

 

Pretty tasty brew, definitely the best I've had from them so far, still have another from them.

Got this in some BIF a while ago. Forgot about it. This was amazing. Solid head retention/minimal lacing. Aromas and flavors of huge dark chocolate, cocoa, coffee, toasted coconut, caramel, brown sugar, toffee, molasses, fudge, brownie batter, marshmallow, roasted nuts, and dark bread; with lighter notes of vanilla, licorice, raisin, prune, fig, date, smoke, charcoal, leather, tobacco, herbal/peppery/piney hops, and yeast earthiness. Light pine, herbal, spicy hops; and roast/charcoal bitterness on the finish. Light-medium carbonation and very full body; with a very creamy, silky, velvety, bready, and rich mouthfeel that is fantastic. Light sticky hops, chalky char/roast, and increasing dryness. Lightly increasing warmth of 11.2%, minimal lingering booze. Absolutely amazingly rich malt complexity with perfectly balanced toasted coconut flavors; restrained fruity yeast and balancing earthy hops against sweetness. Just got better and better as it warmed. I had to raise the score by the end of the glass from what I thought near the beginning. This is why I don't review samples. Spot on RIS. 4.35
