Quite a nice Brut IPA with a strong grassy, herbal and earthy character and lighter, floral citrus notes. I think the strong herbal notes actually work quite well in a Brut IPA, nice one!

While still nice, this is a bit of a disappointment after their excellent Seehafen I and Sonoma Brut IPAs. Bit of a vegetal/soapy character creeping in here, unfortunately.

A dry hopped lager - “Pistonhead Flat Tire” from Brutal Brewing, Varby, Sweden:

A really nice lager. Mango nose/taste and crisp bready malt. Hopped with Magnum, Centennial and Mosaic. Dry finish.

Another day of walking around and site seeing in the rain today. Edinburgh Castle from Princes Street looking south:

Pretty nice. Fantastic rocky head retention/thick lacing. Aromas and flavors of big grapefruit, tangerine, lemon, peach, pear, pineapple, apricot, passion fruit, mango, melon, berries, citrus peel/rind, wood, peppercorn, and pine hops; with moderate wheat, cracker, biscuit dough malts; and herbal, floral, grassy hop earthiness. Light-moderate pine, citrus peel/rind, herbal, floral, woody, grassy, peppery bitterness on the finish. Medium carbonation body; balanced bready/bready/grainy malts and sticky hops in the mouthfeel; some resins/rinds. Light-moderate increasing bitter dryness, no hop astringency. Very smooth, not aggressive, 5.7%. Not nearly as tropical as expected; just feels like Simcoe, Amarillo, and C hops. Nicely vibrant, juicy, dank, and earthy balanced hop complexity; nice pale/wheat malt backbone, minimal residual sweetness from lingering resin dryness. Enjoyable. 3.71
