First time having Wrench from Industrial Arts. There’s been some talk lately in the IA thread that recent batches have been subpar. This can was from the 12/11/18 batch. If this is not up to it’s usual standard I have a hard time imagining how it could be much better.

Drinking a beer from @mschrei out of a glass from @Prager62 while reading my book and listening to music for @jzeilinger. Only thing left to do is figure out how I'm going to spend my $0 paycheck this weekend.

Seems to be the best of the cloudy IPAs. Really good. There's so fucking many of them its getting ridiculous. I mean anyone that reads my posts know I drink a crapload - Now we have a subcategory of New England IPA called, and probably deliberately, a NorthEast IPA. Anyhow when I go back and have a G-bot, Sip Of Sunshine, A Year With Dr Nandu and quite a few other "Northeast-New England" style West Coast IPAs I am reminded how much I dig them. And that we still brew a few around here in Northeast/New England.[IMG]

Insane DIPA as usual. Aromas and flavors of huge grapefruit, tangerine, lemon, peach, pineapple, passion fruit, papaya, mango, melon, berries, citrus peel/rind, wood, peppercorn, and pine hops; with moderate honey, biscuit, light caramel/toasted malts; and herbal, floral, grassy hop earthiness. Good sized pine, citrus peel/rind, herbal, floral, woody, grassy, peppery bitterness on the finish. Medium carbonation/body, and fairly crisp finishing. Balanced bready/grainy malt, and sticky/resinous/rindy hops in the mouthfeel. Moderate increasing resin dryness, no hop astringency. Super smooth, not overly aggressive, minimal warming 9%. Amazing classic Chinook, Centennial, Simcoe, Cascade, Citra profile. Extremely juicy, vibrant, dank, and earthy balanced hop complexity; great bready malt backbone, with minimal residual sweetness from lingering resin dryness. Well attenuated for the ABV. One of the best west coast DIPAs ever made, especially with having no newer hops.

Good evening, all! No beer for me tonight. The father of one of our group home residents passed away on Sunday, and I just got back from the out-of-town visitation. This was the guy who kept me supplied with his homemade Amarone-style red wine. Before he died, he told me he wanted me to have his remaining stock because he knew I appreciated it so much. Tonight I'm lifting a glass in his memory. Paired with grilled New York strip, baked potatoes, and spring greens. Here's to you, Bill. Salut!

Checked out Devil's Milk barleywine from DuClaw...
Seemed like something I would've had by now, but I hadn't... Surprised at the middling reviews - this is a citrusy, hoppy barleywine - maybe not what you're expecting in a barleywine - but a real solid beer... Lots of orange and lime and even almost woody notes - kinda reminds me of Widow Jane bourbon (which is a good thing)... Mild fruit leather shellac from a medium-bodied, slightly tacky body... It's not a big boozer, but maybe leans toward an old ale or Scotch ale in its body and feel - but the hoppy fruits are very bright and clean... I thought it was really good... 11/30/18 bottling...

And yeah, I had a little Widow Jane as a chaser, and yeah, something similar about the flavor profile, though the WJ was denser, fruitier, and by comparison, not as "limey" as it normally strikes me... Great beer and bourbon pairing BTW...

    Cheers...
