Alvarado Street's new IPA Sur Real is my breakfast beer. Loving the day off. I guess, sometimes working for the government doesn't totally suck. Cheers, all!

I was handed this unlabeled can almost two weeks ago by the Trapp Family Lodge timeshare salesman. All he said about it was that it was a low fill and a collaboration. I immediately told him I knew of only one canned von Trapp collab, that Hoppy Marzen from a few years back. This, however, is a bock and it is fantastic! Can't wait to get my hands on more of this! von Trapp doesn't get too much attention being in one of the most hop forward states in the union.
Cheers to JP, Tommy, and the crew up the hill!!!

Twin Roads Dry & Mighty. I’m a big fan of Two Roads, but this is mediocre at best, unfortunately. Cheers!

[IMG] The Answer Brewpub Corporate Severance Package. 6.5% dry hopped with Citra. Pours a very hazy yellow orange with a 2 plus finger sticky white head that leaves thin streaks of lace canned on 12/23/18. 4.5

Smell is papaya, passionfruit, pineapple, and white grapefruit rind. 4

Taste follows a little more pungent than the nose, papaya, pineapple, passionfruit, and a little bitter grapefruit on the back end, but actually very well balanced. 4.25

Mouthfeel is a solid medium, soft gentle carbonation, a little sticky but not dry, and at 6.5% very drinkable and drinks as it should. 4

Overall this is a very nice NEIPA, I should have drank it sooner, but was hoping to share it with a friend. 4

Well, it didn't take long and here is my beer #2. Cheers, all!

    Revision Brewing — Hi Juno

Look: Bright yellow murky body, lots of head formation (new for Revision's beers w/ milk sugar; usually the head on these sucks), medium head retention but the lacing is superb.

    Smell:
Very pleasant smell, reminiscent of sweet oranges. The aroma is fairly pungent.

Taste: Very interesting and, for my palate, spectacular. The citrusy and floral notes somehow combine into an almost dank synthesis. Milk sugar is not apparent until the beer warms.

Feel: It's a NEIPA. The body, carbonation, and alcohol presence are all spot-on for the style.

Overall: Hi Juno is a great milkshake IPA and a great hazy IPA overall. This is by far and away Revision's best NEIPA w/ milk sugar. While drinking this can, it's apparent that the brewers went ham with hops and added the milk for just a touch. Yes, it would be better with no sugar at all. I'm a firm believer that this is true for all IPAs. But IMO, this is as good as the milkshake fad can get, and the praise doesn't get higher than that.

    4.25 | 4.25 | 4.5 | 4.5 | 4.5 ||| Overall: 4.43 (rDev +5%) — mine is the 6th rating.

Post run beer. 6.5% Mixed culture saison aged in puncheons.

    Cellarmaker.
    Highland Park Brewing.
    Automatic Brewing.

This has a pleasant Saison base beer, but a light funk shines throughout. It may have given flahes of sweetness on first impression, but is pretty dry throughout the palate.

Very easy drinking beer, and one to ponder over.
