Red Chair isn't year round, so I'd lean no. I think Deschutes might consider Black Butte as their flagship, though I'd offer up Mirror Pond as the potential B-Side for it. Maybe @Lingenbrau can weigh in?

I got to work today, but I'll be back later with some Saint Arnold, and some other stuff (mix of flagships and whatever else I have on hand). Of course lots of music as well.

Thanks Craig. I'd be glad to insert my two cents on the matter.

Well Corey, though it pains me to agree with Greggy here, Black Butte and Mirror Pond are indeed their flagship beers. 30 years young and delicious as ever.

    Back to you, CJ.

This was incredible. Aromas and flavors of big tangerine, grapefruit, lemon, lime, peach, pear, pineapple, apricot, passion fruit, papaya, mango, melon, guava, blueberry, gooseberry, white grape/wine, citrus peel/rind, wood, peppercorn, and pine hops; with moderate cracker, white bread dough, light honeyed malts; and herbal, floral, grassy hop earthiness. Light-moderate pine, citrus peel/rind, herbal, floral, woody, grassy, peppery bitterness on the finish. Medium carbonation/body, and fairly crisp finishing. Balanced creamy/bready/grainy malt and sticky hops; some resins/rinds in the mouthfeel. Light-moderate increasing resin dryness, no hop astringency. Insanely smooth, not overly aggressive, minimal warming 9.4%. Amazing mixed profile of 12 different hops. Extremely juicy, vibrant, dank, and earthy balance hop complexity; with a nice bready malt backbone. Minimal residual sweetness from crisp resin dryness. They really nailed this for sure. Hope they make another batch soon.

Patrick and I are working to make this a mandatory national holiday. It's currently stuck in committee. Write your representatives in Congress while you're at work to help us out.

Agreeing with me is always painful at first. Doing it more only makes it worse.

Are those post-round beers, by any chance? I hope we're not inducing you into applying too much swing lube before a round

This beer, to me, is one of the few Flagships that check every box. Iconic, beloved and represents still what the brewery is.

It certainly is Goose Island's best.

Question. Can a seasonal, limited release be a Flagship?

Dammit. Logic foils the day again.

As stated, I'm just using statistics to back my argument, but we all know what Mark Twain said about them.

Amazing batch this year as expected. Aromas and flavors of big juicy/tart/tangy red raspberries, fruit skin/seeds, raisin, red grape, plum, pear, red apple, pepper, candi sugar, and toasted bread; with some herbal hops and yeast earthiness. Touch of banana/clove. Balanced fruit tartness and peppery yeast spice on the finish against malt sweetness. Medium carbonation/body, and fairly crisp finishing. Some bready/grainy creaminess, fruit tannins, and lightly slick/syrupy in the mouthfeel. Good dryness from fruit acidity and yeast spice; never too sweet. Very drinkable, minimal warming 9.2%. Already got 4 packs. This shows great balance of Belgian yeast character, without just being a straight over the top fruit beer. Love Rubaeus too, this is basically just the imperial Belgian version. One of my favorite fruit beers of all time. I wouldn’t mind Cerise coming back either. Super jammy.

If the Baby isn’t Founders’ flagship, it ought to be...

Meeting @rmank at Westbrook this afternoon for a small IP trade, and some flagship drinking at the source. Cheers y’all!

I'd tend to lean towards no, in mild disagreement with @mschrei. BCBS is obviously iconic, and I believe a trend-setter (is it officially the first bourbon-barrel aged beer? or the first "widely available" one?).

There are some other interesting seasonals, too, Nugget Nectar comes to mind, for instance.
