    Another night shift complete. We went six days with out a death call at the funeral home and in the last day we’ve had 8. Death is weird.

    This, however is delicious. And beautiful in the light. The mosaic is strong in this one. Tons of grapefruit upfront, lending to some tropical pineapple and mango notes.

    A couple of hours ago at N3 Tap House in Colorado Springs - Jessup Farm Barrel House's 'Wheelhouse'

    look: 3.75 | smell: 2.75 | taste: 3 | feel: 3.25 | overall: 3

    Dark brown body; thin,wispy head. Little smell or aroma. Strong acetyl flavor; burnt rubber although this could be due to the barrel aging, but it just doesn't seem right. Medium body; smooth and flat.

    Not a bad looking beer, but the off-flavor and lack of any discernable aroma kills the appeal. I appreciate a good barrel-aged beer, but this one just didnt cut it. There is little to no malt chacter or heft to add balance and heft to the beer, and I love a good snort of bourbon (e.g. Wild Turkey, most Beam offerings, Four Roses, and A.H. Hill -- still have two bottles of the 16-year), but this beer didn't turn out well as either a brown ale or barrel-aged product.

    Experienced on-tap at N3 Tap House in Colorado Springs.

    Yep, too much whiskey barrel aging and not enough brown ale flavor. But those fish 'n' chips at N3 are killer...

    This is a really odd one, which suffers from the typical deficiancies of a German Stout, being way too hoppy and floral, but could actually pass as a rather nice Black IPA that is probably better then their actual Black IPA, ironically...

    Poured into a 13 oz Kettlehead Brewing glass canned on 2/28/19 just released today. Pours like a glass pineapple orange juice, with a solid finger sticky white head that leaves a thin collar of lace. 4.25


    Smell is papaya, passionfruit, a hint of lime, pineapple, and a little hit of white grapefruit rind. 4.5


    Taste follows papaya, passionfruit, pineapple, upfront with some lime and grapefruit in moderately bitter finish. 4.5


    Mouthfeel is bigger than average, a nice soft feel with gentle carbonation, and at 8% ABV crazy drinkable. 4.75


    Overall another excellent NEDIPA from this excellent young brewery. 4.5[​IMG]

    Don't worry about getting smarter, get wiser instead !

    Did mine/ours the other day. Mostly because I wanted to see what impact RMD will have next year. Some local charity will be getting some $s instead of the feds.
