Back to the Guinness, probably my closer for the evening.

Here's an unlikely union of two great legends. Probably two of the humblest guys in the business.

Les Paul was not only a great player, but he was also a prolific inventor. Check out this link if you'd like to know more.

Another new Big Lake NEIPA. This was excellent. Fantastic rocky head retention/thick soapy lacing. Aromas and flavors of big tangerine, orange juice, red grapefruit, lemon, peach, pear, pineapple, apricot, passion fruit, papaya, mango, honeydew melon, blueberry, gooseberry, citrus peel/rind, wood, light peppercorn, and pine hops; with moderate wheat, cracker, biscuit dough, light honeyed malts; and herbal, floral, grassy hop earthiness. Light-moderate pine, citrus peel/rind, herbal, woody, grassy, peppery bitterness on the finish. Medium carbonation/body; creamy, silky, bready wheat/oats; and some sticky/resinous/rindy hops in the mouthfeel. Light-moderate increasing bitter dryness, no hop astringency. Very smooth, nicely soft, minimal warming 5.6%. Feels like Galaxy, Citra, Mosaic. Extremely juicy, vibrant, and fairly dank/earthy hops with bitter orange peels; and a great balancing wheat/oat/malt backbone. Mild residual sweetness with lingering resin dryness. Really well done for the style. Glad I got the 4 pack as usual. Very flavorful and balanced for the ABV. 4.03

Lakefront Maibock. For some reason this 6 pack was listed as a closeout item at the Pic N Sav. Before May. Before The end of winter. Well before the end of my winter. And on the first day I noticed its presence at all. Pushing the season, as seasonal beers do. Well, I got the last of them and am not disappointed. It’s a delicious malt bomb! I drink Lakefront IPA with such frequency that I forget it was their lagers that first caught my attention.

Toppling Goliath has been added to my collection of pen holders.
Dorothy's New World Lager, a California Common. Nice floral sweetness with a clean finish.

Nice, but it doesn't change the world of beer like Dvorak changed the world of music with his New World Symphony.

Illinois seems completely uninterested in playing any defense tonight. Hope that continues.

Outstanding Gueuze. Fantastic fluffy head retention/soapy lacing. Aromas and flavors of big tart/sour lemon, lime, orange, grapefruit, citrus peel/zest, peach, pear, pineapple, melon, apricot, red/green apple, white grape/wine, oak, peppercorn, hay, straw, wet wood, leathery/musty funk, wheat, cracker, white bread, and yeast earthiness. Light-moderate lactic tart/sourness, Brett tang, and yeast/oak tannin spiciness on the finish. Medium-plus carbonation, light-medium body, and fairly crisp finishing. Balanced bready/grainy wheat, lactic acid, tang, and oak tannin in the mouthfeel. Light-moderate increasing acidic/tangy/tannic dryness, zero puckering. Very flavorful, pretty refreshing, not overly lactic, 5.5%. For a budget true-to-style gueuze this was pretty amazing. Fantastic classic barnyard Brett/Bacteria complexity, with great oak presence, and pale/wheat malts against acidity. Would definitely get again. 4.18

Ha! You're so sweet thinking I think people would want to hear what I have to say. Just because I live in DC doesn't mean I'm a politician. Though your post does give me an idea....
