Cracked a Night Shift Elixir... apt for a cold rainy day. Good, but VERY sweet.

Shared a toast with a couple of buddies to my newly reconstructed pottery kiln. Had this one put away for awhile and seemed appropriate for today.

Tried the Guava Berliner Weiss Sunday and loved it. Wish they bottled it.

Hi. Instead of a simple picture, I will post my first beer review at BA.
I will review Baltic Frontier, my second To Øl beer after the very remarkable Ov-ral IPA. I drank it yesterday evening.

    To Øl Tracheotomy IPA

According to the description, this beer is an IPA with juniper berries and seabuckthorn (my knowledge of english prevents me from fully grasping this berry).

The bottle is cloudy, almost opaque. When you tip it, the clouds make new shapes and little whirlwinds. It is sooo cute, you should see them.

It pours a very very cloudy amber/yellow into my brandless glass (see picture 1 now). At the first sight, you could bet it is the same look of pine resin dissolved in sea water.

After tasting it, it is possible to be more precise. It tastes like pine resin dissolved baltic's sea water.

I use to drink mostly Belgian beers, loving their typical belgian sweetnes, but also including lambics and flanders bruins. Additionally, I happen to mostly hate IPAs, despise germans and moderately enjoy Stouts. So, this is not a very appropiate curriculum to judge this bottle but... this is a postmodern world, lets go:

This is the most disgusting beer I've ever had. It tastes like chewing recently cut pinewood, it burns the back of your mouth and lather the stomach. After getting used to its taste, I was able to perceive new flavors in it, such as a salty background. Disgusting, disgusting, disgusting. Baltic Frontier is the equivalent of one hectar of pine trees distilled in one practical container easy storable.

It was really difficult to empty the glass, it took me almost one hour. At half of it I took a short break to make a call and order a new esophagus.

One of the features of this beer is that it has a extreeeemely long aftertaste that prevents you of having a proper meal (e.g. the next morning, after taking a shower, when I rose the towel towards my face, a subtle aroma of flowers and pine trees came to my nostrils and I had to curve a sudden vomit reflex). This feature may be positive for you, but it wasn't for me.

I will have an argument with the shop-keeper who sold me this.
    Drink Ov-ral, believe me.

After burning 1029 calories on my exercise bike I showered and walked 2 miles to my local craft bar for two beers I wanted to try. Beer #1 was SN Blindfold. Loved the hoppy up front bitterness and the chocolately middle but not a fan of the dry after taste.

Beer #2 was a People's Hopkilla. So close to awesome but not quite there.

Back home to a lovely Zombie dust. Everything that Hopkilla is lacking.

They're not making this beer anymore and I only have 16 15 bottles left...

I know where there's plenty more, so if you want some send me a message before this well dries up and this beer becomes a wale (whale, wail).
