This song came up at work today. When we first got cable TV (1982ish?), it was in heavy rotation on MTV. Every time I hear it, it reminds me of 10th grade.

 

It’s only more nerve wrecking from here on out, you should know that as a Caps fan!

A day off from all the bullshit, which means I can treat myself to (at least) two beers. Glenmorangie sent me a bottle of scotch that they'd like me to review, so that's cool, and it gives me an excuse to drink whisky too! In the mean time, this is All Souls IPA by Cushnoc. A hybrid East Coast/West Coast (more West Coast, really) IPA with some Galaxy in the mix. Canned 2/26/19.
The flavor is extraordinary, but it's just so watered down. The flavors are truly great (think Maine Beer Co. Dinner), but it's turned down to 2, where it needs to be at 7. Hopefully they get this dialed in. This has potential. Oh well. It's an easy drinker.

Cloudwater/The Veil - Chubbles - TIPA

 

VERKTøY, a Norwegian-style IPA at Industrial Arts Brewing. It features Norwegian farmhouse yeast and Lotus hops, of which I've never heard before. It's simple but rich in flavor and fun to drink. Too bad they didn't can this one or I would have brought some home.

 

Very nice flavored German pils. Great rocky head retention/spotty soapy lacing. Aromas and flavors of lemon, lime, citrus peel/zest, peach, melon, mint, dill, green tea, pine hops; with moderate cracker, white bread dough, lightly toasted biscuit malts; and herbal, floral, grassy, peppery hops. A bit muted aromas. Light-moderate pine, citrus peel/rind, herbal, floral, grassy, peppery bitterness on the finish. Medium carbonation, light-medium body, and moderately crisp/clean finishing. Balanced bready/grainy malts, sticky hops, and light resins/rinds in the mouthfeel. Moderate increasing bitter dryness, no hop astringency. Perfectly clean lager flavors, no yeasty notes. Very flavorful/refreshing, not watery for 4.8%. Great balance of vibrant/dank/earthy Lemondrop hops, meyer lemons, and a great balancing clean pils malt backbone. No residual sweetness with crisp dryness. Very impressive for the style. 3.88
