    Howdy BAs.

I’ve drank regular Leffe about a thousand times before and I’m probably way off mark but when I get the chance to sip on one of their different brew you can count me in. Leffe Nectar which is flavored with honey and well balanced. Cheers!

Somehow it looks like impossible to post a picture with just using an iPhone. Or is it just me?

Boarding in a couple of minutes. Beer is almost finished by now

    See you all later.
    Cheers!

Good afternoon my Euro-brethern and good morning NA and SA BAs! Another normal rainy morning here in NW PA. Today's New Breakfast Beer:

Yet another brewer who admonishes you to “Always Drink Fresh” but then doesn’t bother to date the cans (-0.25 points). This has an uncomplicated flavor palette – chocolate.

Mad River's Brewer's Secret: Bourbon Barrel Vanilla Porter

    3.83/5 rDev 0%
    look: 4 | smell: 3.5 | taste: 4 | feel: 4 | overall: 3.75

Dark brown body; rich and creamy head, about one-finger thick with rings of lacing along the glass. Faint dark malt with some boozy notes. Rich flavors of cocoa and vanilla with a noticeable bourbon undercurrent; mild bitterness offsetting the subdued sweetness. Heavy body; smooth and velvety; fine residual sugar presence yet feels semi-dry overall.

A very nice tasting and looking porter lacking only in the aroma department.

    3.57/5 rDev -7.5%
    look: 4.25 | smell: 4 | taste: 3.25 | feel: 3.5 | overall: 3.5

Mildly hazy looking golden body; thick, sculpted white head. Pine resin aroma with some citrus notes lurking underneath. Initial citrus taste quickly transitions to a rather caramel and faint butterscotch malt flavor; nice hop bitterness throughout; citrus pith. Heavy body; smooth and velvety; dry mouthfeel throughout.

I can't say this is a stupendous beer overall. It looks fantastic yet the the taste and mouthfeel are pretty much limited and almost one-dimensional, focused in to a dry, citrus pith character. It's okay but not something this beer drinker would seek out again.

Had my last shift at the bar last Friday so I went by today to drop off my keys today. They wouldn't let me leave without having one last beer so I went all in.
Cookie Monster Bourbon BA by Amundsen at 12.3% ABV. A nutty, boozy and sweet mess of an imperial stout. And I mean mess in a, somewhat, good way. There's so much happening at once. Have had more balanced heavy stout from Amundsen but it's still a really good beer.

EDIT: Forgot to say it was on nitro. Which you can probably tell from the head on it.

Thanks to @brutalfarce for recommending Armsby Abbey. They have a fantastic draft selection, and I’ve got what sounds like a fantastic burger on the way.

    Cheers, BA.

    look: 4 | smell: 3.5 | taste: 3.75 | feel: 4 | overall: 3.75

Hazy, peach colored body; thick, sticky, soapy bodied head; rings and globs of foam cling to the inside of the glass. Light citrus and citrus pith aroma; grapefruit. Biscuit malt base; milkshake-like sweetness; very bitter and citric. Heavy body; warm and biting on the palate; alcohol dryness.

I could find very little information about this beer other than the hop varietals used (as listed on the can - canned 03/26/19): Cryo Eukanot, Simcoe, Strata, Cryo Loral). The beer certainly has a DIPA punch but also seems to have a rather limited taste spectrum, primarily dull and bitter. I wouldn't turn down another chance at this one, but there is little that drive me towards purchasing another one.

...an interesting side note: the one time I got a speeding ticket while driving in Germany (I lived there from1986-1991, West Berlin and Sembach) was on the autobahn just outside of Kaiserslautern...the autobahn does (did?) not have unlimited speed limits in all areas...

Hey. Lately, I have been going with tried and true favorites, but now I am back into my exploratory stage. Also trying to get my beer count up.
So today, I picked up Cryonic IPA brewed by D9.
A fairly decent beer in a galaxy of very stiff competition.
    Cheers
