    Good morning BA
    I was too tired for a beer yesterday morning after my shift, so I'm following up my NBS barleywine with a revisit of this...

    Purchased off a room temperature shelf at Jungle Jim's last month. No date information that I can find. Nice "British" barleywine. My lowest rated of ten in the style, but I would purchase again. Cheers all!

    Having another go at this one . . .

    Slightly hazy lemon yellow color with white cap and good lacing.

    Aroma is a mild mixture of sweet grain and slightly floral hops.

    Taste is first an impression of a moderately full bodied brew. More than the appearance and aroma imply. There is a textural thing going on here that may in fact be the beer's most appealing feature. The grain flavor is sweetish but muted with a somewhat firm hop presence kicking in at the back of the palate accompanied by some sharp citrus like lemon zest.

    Any beer can taste world class after a 12 hour overnight shift... Loving this long beard right now.. Roasted malts with hints of chocolate and a greatly mocha tan head clocking in at only 6% abv.. Full bodied oatmeal stout here tasting amazing cheers

    Still has great looks. The smell is richer and fuller with more fruit and citrus. The taste also comes across in a nicer manner, more rounded and fruity while still delivering a punchy hop presence.

    This second can, probably from the same batch as my first one reviewed a week ago, just seems a bit more appealing. Maybe the rest from shipping and chilling in a cool garage is a big factor, too. Regardless, a much more impressive session with this go-around.

    Pale and cloudy peach yellow body; billowy head, cream, sticky and white. Strong, earthy aroma; over-ripe fruit; very, very faint sense of citrus. Decent and balance flavor of melon and hop bitterness; grapefruit; biscuit; boozy at the finish. Heavy body; smooth and mildly velvety; creamy; relatively dry overall.

    A decent enough double IPA, riding along the haze-craze of beers, but kind of gets lost in the crowd of similar IPAs offered by others.
