    I've said this before and I'll say it again, I really need to stop buying beer with lactose in it. They can work sometime, the last one wasn't too bad actually, but most of the time they don't and this sickly sweet, unbalanced mess is a prime example of that. I had kinda expected more from Northern Monk, but you can't win 'em all, I guess.

    Review 8900 and my 10k'th post. Pike 51 BBA Sinister Sister. This was fantastic. Great rocky head retention/thick foamy lacing. Aromas and flavors of big milk/dark chocolate, cocoa, hazelnut, coffee, caramel, brown sugar, vanilla, bourbon, toasted oak, biscuit, and dark/brown bread/crust; with light notes of coconut, toffee, dark fruit, molasses, smoke, oak char, herbal, grass, pepper, and yeast earthiness. Light herbal, grassy, woody, roast, charred bitterness; and bourbon/oak tannin spiciness on the finish. Medium carbonation and medium-full body; very creamy, silky, bready malts; some sticky hops, chalky roast, and oak tannins in the mouthfeel. Lightly increasing lingering bitter dryness; no cloying, acrid, astringency. Very smooth/soft, minimal warming 9.7%, zero barrel booze. Fantastic balance of rich malts, hazelnut, cocoa nibs, and bourbon barrel presence/integration; solid earthy hops and mild fruity yeast. Light residual sweetness with lingering dryness. Was a big improvement over the base beer! Both were bottled in 6/2017. 4.2

    Were you at GSB yesterday? I haven’t cracked any of my cans yet but the one I had on tap yesterday was perfect. I thought One Dimensional Man was still pretty green.
