Have a nice Sunday BA. Was up all night hanging with friends and listening to music. Took a nap late yesterday evening though, so I should be OK for the day.

Time for a big beer review as usual for a weekend. The Bruery Chronology:18. Bottled 11/6/2015. This was fantastic. Poor head retention/no lacing as expected. Aromas and flavors of huge caramel, brown sugar, toffee, vanilla, bourbon, toasted oak, nuts, biscuit, brown bread/dough, raisin, plum, prune, cherry, fig, date, apricot, red apple, and red grape; with lighter notes of coconut, molasses, licorice, chocolate, cocoa, coffee, peat smoke, leather, tobacco, herbal, grass, pepper, and yeast earthiness. Very mild herbal, grassy, roasted bitterness; and bourbon/oak tannin spiciness on the finish. Light-medium carbonation and very full body; very creamy, silky, bready malts; light slickness, sticky hops, and oak tannins in the mouthfeel. Lightly increasing lingering bitter/tannic dryness; no cloying sweetness. Dangerously smooth/soft sipping. Mild increasing warmth of 16.6%, with minimal lingering barrel booze after the finish. Perfectly balanced between super rich malts, fruity yeast, and bourbon barrel presence/integration. Not overly sweet/heavy from lingering dryness. Right on par with the average. This was WAY less sweet than the 24. 4.25

    Hoppy Sunday BA.

Haven’t had Anchor Steam in years, just found it early this morning in the local mall. Nice surprise to see yet another American brewery finally on our shelves:

And for tunes? uhhh...let me find a favorite...

Amazing batch this year as expected. Aromas and flavors of big juicy/tart/tangy red raspberries, fruit skin/seeds, raisin, red grape, plum, pear, red apple, pepper, candi sugar, and toasted bread; with some herbal hops and yeast earthiness. Touch of banana/clove. Balanced fruit tartness and peppery yeast spice on the finish against malt sweetness. Medium carbonation/body, and fairly crisp finishing. Some bready/grainy creaminess, fruit tannins, and lightly slick/syrupy in the mouthfeel. Good dryness from fruit acidity and yeast spice; never too sweet. Very drinkable, minimal warming 9.2%. Already got 4 packs. This shows great balance of Belgian yeast character, without just being a straight over the top fruit beer. Love Rubaeus too, this is basically just the imperial Belgian version. One of my favorite fruit beers of all time. I wouldn’t mind Cerise coming back either. Super jammy. Will keep buying more while I can.

Foreign Objects Wet Gravity. A really nice NEIPA with tons of juice going on. I would upload my pic but once again, I am stuck fighting with the IMGUR app. UGH!

[IMG] Good morning and a beautiful one at that. Starting with some local juice. A sad day for my kids, the final day before school starts back up. When I was a kid, I was always excited to see my friends, but school was not easy for me so I did not like it and also the change of teachers and class rooms. Oh well a 5th, 4th, and 2nd grader tomorrow. Cheers

Always hated the 1st day of school. Mainly because it fell on the same day as my birthday. Not every year but most years. :beers:

The Grand Taste Comparison: Two Wild Ales from Jester King, Texas; Atrial Rubicite (left) barrel aged with raspberry ABV 5.20%, and Omniscience and Proselytism (right) refermented in oak barrels with strawberries, ABV 5.00%. Both are delicious. Atrial Rubicite has a fuller body and richers flavor of lots of raspberries, fresh raspberry jam, a little bit of yeasty funk, a longer aftertaste and its quite tart (not too tart). Omniscience and Proselytism has strawberry, some oak, or perhaps oak tannins, it is lighter and refreshing. I asked my daughter and my wife and we all thought they were both great but we all liked Atrial Rubicite better because it really sit with you a longer time. OK raspberry and strawberry are different berries but they are similar and that's not where the difference lay. If you are sitting outside in the heat Omniscience and Proselytism may be easier more refreshing drinking but for slow sipping with a meal Atrial Rubicite wins.

Clear, lighter shade of gold color with beautiful white cap and lacing.

Sweet floral aroma that's also fruity and a bit spicy.

Fresh bread flavor at that comes across as slightly spicy and washed down with a glass of mixed citrus juice. Hops are along for the full ride and show some firmness in the finish. My impression overall is a Dortmunder style Pilsner with some American twists, very clean and quite refreshing.
