    Looked like the rain had ended so I went outside for a Goose Island oktoberfest. Both the weather and the beer tricked me. It started raining again and I dumped 1/2 this beer. A real disappoinment with no redeeming qualities.

    Notch Voll Projekt DDH IPA. Cleaning out the last of my IPAs. Canned 7/8 and tasting a bit off. Not bad, but not top tier stuff for me. Much prefer their lagers to their hoppy beers in general. Cheers

    Rainy day off, light chores, testing marinated chicken thigh recipe using a peach habanero local hard cider. More on that later at dinner time...

    16 oz. can.
    Canned 31 JUL 2019.
    Moderate to vigorous pour yields a one inch off-white head over a hazy, golden body with no lacing. Nose of coconut and pineapple. Taste mirrors nose at first, then mostly pineapple, and finishing with tart pineapple. Good feel and overall, got pineapple? Why, yes indeed!

    The sun emerged briefly so I figured I could get the lawn cut. As soon as I started mowing it began to sprinkle. By the time I finished it was like the scene in Caddyshack with Carl Spackler and Bishop Pickering trying to finish a great round (including close lightning but unlike the Bishop I emerged unscathed). Toweled off and in my favorite stool in MacMalt's Elbow Room. Double Daisy Cutter.
