A nice Pale Ale by Vibrant Forest from the UK. My first beer from these guys, I really dig the can art.

They say A. virosa is delicious too! What a horrible way to die from what I've read.

It is a lot to learn to pick safely, but when you love em the way I do you put in the time to learn. I joined a club and learned from the pros. Took some years for sure. BTW A. muscaria var. guessowii can be safely prepared so you don't get ill or stoned.

Was informed last night that we had to evacuate the OBX, NC. Left this morning. Since I am not there I might as well bring back a few brewed there and drink them in Richmond.

OBX Beer. A kolsch brewed by Weeping Radish.

First had this on tap on Sunday, and I'm glad I brought a can home as well. Just as beautiful out of the can, so it wasn't an artefact of having it on draught.

Now if only FO could get all their beers to look this good. Cheers!

This site has been really slow periodically - I have decent speed and other sites load quickly, anyone else noticing this?

By the time you realize you've eaten A. Virosa they say it's usually too late. Before the effects are felt it's already starting to destroy organs. I'll pass on the A. Muscaria's even though there may be ways to safely prepare them :grimacing:. I have eaten psilocibin before though, many years ago.

I wish I could recall the dude that said Mac Miller was a poser and disgrace to rap. Hmmm, really? Anyhow, we could have a respectful conversation whenever you're up for the challenge, @Buckeye55. Peace.

Hope everyone had a good Tuesday back to work. Had a mini class this afternoon to learn how to use some fuel economy calculation tools. Have a half day aerodynamics class on Thursday. I've been thinking about changing jobs to either Fuel Economy or Chassis systems. They are the groups I deal with on the most regular basis. Safety/Impact too.

Drafting Table Professional Pils. Excellent German pils. Nice fluffy head retention/spotty soapy lacing. Aromas and flavors of big lemon, cracker, white bread dough, toasted biscuit, light nutty malts; with moderate wood, peppercorn, herbal, floral, grassy hops. Moderate pine, herbal, floral, woody, grassy, peppery bitterness on the finish. Medium carbonation, light-medium body, and moderately crisp/clean finishing. Balanced bready/grainy malts, sticky hops, and some resins in the mouthfeel. Moderate increasing bitter dryness, no hop astringency. Very flavorful/refreshing, not overly aggressive, 5.2%. Very clean lagering, minimal fruity/yeasty notes. Awesome clean pils malt showcase, with perfect noble hop presence/balance. Minimal residual sweetness with crisp resin dryness. No complaints. Spot on style. 4

Went back to Tech Death today. One of the top favorites. I love all their albums, but this is the pinnacle one.

Funny that is the first thing folks usually ask me, do I find any Psilocybe sp.? The one we have here, common name blue foot, grows on wood, not shit, and has a deadly poison lookalike, Galerina marginata, so no one I know picks them. We get Panaeolus and Gymnopilis sp. which have the same active ingredient, but less of it, and I found about ten pounds of G. junonius that I gave away to friends some years ago (I don't do them). I don't even bother to inspect them now if I see possibles.

If you love wild shrooms you should join a club and go out with folks who can ID your haul safely and teach you to do it! It is soooo much fun to do.

I am probably way too old to have listened to his music but would give it a try. If you suggest one tune I should listen to, let me know. Thanks. I hope you had a good holiday weekend.

A fantastic Rye Pale Ale with an impressive depth of flavor and mouthfeel for the ABV, as well as an excellent balance of caramel malt, citrus, resinous hops and that typical spicy rye character.

Last of this four pack. Redbugatti. A TIPA brewed by Veil. I see that @jvgoor3786 had one awhile ago and lived to tell the tale.

Damn, this is a good beer. I usually favor DIPAs but I would definetely buy this again. And not just one four pack!

You could be absolutely right, sir. Just like beer, if you don't like a certain style, you just don't. And that is OK...

There's no need to knock it. Just drink and listen to what you like. However, if you are a fan of a certain style/genre, you better be prepared to come correct when the cards are on the table. I will bet all of my stand-in-line beers for the rest of my life that I will never lose a rap argument to anyone, let alone some random @Buckeye55. Child please.

Sir, I hope you navigated your way safely out of the storm's path. I love you.
