Howdy and Bonjour from Burgundy, France BAs.

In this land of wine (think; Nuits St Georges, Pommard and Chablis) I am again choosing local beer. A pretty good Amber one. I find both the glass and bottle quite elegant and well designed too:

Cheers and shout out to the great @superspak I didn’t reply in yesterday thread but do enjoy the surprise French haul I sent you

    Tivoli -- Slam Dunkel

    4.14/5 rDev 0%
    look: 4 | smell: 4.25 | taste: 4.25 | feel: 3.75 | overall: 4

Warm and dark garnet hued body; decent head, not too thick but lasting; spidery fingers of lacing stick to the glass. Inviting smell of warm brown bread crust; deeply toasted grains and a smidgen of roasted coffee. The taste also reverberates with rich and subtle toffee, charred sugar; barest touch of hop bitterness; a touch of alcohol. Medium-heavy body; velvety and warm on the palate; plenty of residual sugar; dull sweetness throughout; sticky.

TIvoli's 'Grand Slam' presents a wonderful dark lager. I'd consider it more of Munich Dunkel than a dunkle bock beer (if only for the relatively low ABV and more inline with the BJCP 2015 and current BA style description guidelines), but whatever the classification, there is no denying the incredible malty and rich flavors to be found within its liquid boundaries. Roasty, nutty, and very satisfying.
    ...........
...I got up fairly early this AM, rested, and listening to a duet of Great horned owls hooting back and forth through the pre-dawn hours. It doesn't get much better than that...

100% agree. Heroes and innocent victims all deserve to be remembered, but it's not in any way denigrating or disrespecting the rest of the victims to especially honor the heroic act of the passengers and crew of UA 93 - who themselves willingly sacrificed their lives, to ensure that even more would live.

Amber gold color with good cap and lacing.

Intense fresh aroma of pine and tropical citrus. The citrus seems a bit sharp to me but that may be hop influenced.

Taste on entry is a hop burst that's bright, piney, citrusy and refreshing. The underlying malt base makes a substantial contribution that's not so much flavor as presence. This is a reasonably complex brew where the hop and malt flavors merge well together. Finish is clean and quick with a touch of malt sweetness in the aftertaste.

Medium full texture with balancing carbonation.

This is a good one worth a repeat.

Cerberus -- Joyof Silenus (imperial stout aged in Maker's Mark barrels with coconut, almonds, and vanilla)

    4.24/5 rDev 0%
    look: 4 | smell: 4.25 | taste: 4.25 | feel: 4.25 | overall: 4.25

Jet black body with a thin, wispy tan head. Big aroma of charred grain; coconut; toffee; roasted nuts. Bitter and milk chocolate; coconut milk; faint booziness. Heavy body; silky and oily; warm residual sugars; mild slcohol heat.

For a barrel aged beer at 15.0% ABV, the dark malts, coconut, almonds and vanilla do a fine job of of masking the alcohol. Roasty, nutty and sweet, this beer is one fine taste treat.

Dark, muddy brown body; lively carbonation; dense and creamy head; sheet of foam surrounds the glass. Very spicy aroma; mint and ginger. Strong ginger presence; metallic and bitter; very slight dark malt noted. Medium-light body; very dry and carbonated.

A so-so saison that suffers from ginger over-kill, a metalic aftertaste and a thin as nd watery body. Ah, but the looks ans and aroma...

I'm having Sly Fox 360, an IPA that doesn't really seem like it aligns with IPA expectations. It's a clear, dark amber color with a nice head and very good lacing. It smells a lot maltier than I expect from an IPA, with bread and brown sugar being up front, but there's still some hoppiness there. Pine and grapefruit are in the background. The taste follows the nose, with the malt bill being dominant. There's bread/biscuit and brown sugar/honey. But there's still some hop presence as the pine and floral hops shine through. It's not what I'd call a standard IPA, but it's pretty damn good for what it is.
