    I am a sucker for a good spiced pumpkin ale, and this one is a big ol' doozy. Super fun to drink... almost has that Pumking flavor profile down, but it's also 10%. Daaamn!

    Great Octoberfest/Märzen. Reminds me of the leaves changing color and the sharp, crisp smell in the air. Really, in some sense, the taste of Fall.

    Good evening y’all. Finally feeling a little like Fall here in the Smokies. Appropriate then that I start off with a Octoberfest, this one by Shiner. Credit where credit is due, as a Marzen fan, this is damn delicious. The malt stays firm throughout and the hop balance is right on target. A very nice representation of the style. Cheers!

    Rickety Cricket Hazer's Gonna Haze. Very nice NEIPA. Great rocky head retention/thick soapy lacing. Aromas and flavors of big red grapefruit, tangerine, lemon, peach, pear, pineapple, apricot, passion fruit, mango, honeydew melon, berries, citrus peel/rind, wood, peppercorn, and pine hops; with honey, wheat, white bread dough, toasted biscuit, light caramel/nutty malts; and herbal, floral, grassy hop earthiness. A bit too malty/muddy aromas. Light-moderate pine, citrus peel/rind, herbal, floral, woody, grassy, peppery bitterness on the finish. Medium carbonation and medium-plus body; balanced creamy/bready/grainy malts, sticky hops, and some resins/rinds in the mouthfeel. Light-moderate increasing bitter dryness, no hop astringency. Very smooth/soft, not aggressive, minimal warming 7%. Feels like Columbus, Simcoe, Amarillo. Very juicy, vibrant, and fairly dank/earthy hops; with a nice sized wheat/oat/malt backbone. Light residual sweetness with lingering resin dryness. Well done for the style. 3.88

    ...wanted to bring more beers from New Mexico, but I got to kill off a bunch of Blind Pig first...it's my burden to bear...



    ...and one of the reading selections from General Jim Mattis as well as the current USMC Commandant is Marine Corps Doctrine Publication 1 - Warfighting. I'll be finished with Mattis' "Call Sign Chaos' tonight or tomorrow, so I'll dig into this short read right afterwards...and then perhaps finally get into another one on, I think, both lists, T.E. Lawrence's (i.e., Larry of Arabia) "The Seven Pillars of Wisdom"...
