As far as the style goes, I really think that this is damn near perfect. I’m a huge Sixpoint fan, and it’s been too long since I’ve seen Resin out here.

Cheers to my late night West Coast drinkers, and good day to everyone on the East Coast!:

    Cheers!:

Have a nice Sunday BA. Not much going on today. Got some friends coming over later on.

Another morning big beer review. The Bruery Vindictive. This was awesome. Poor head retention and no lacing as expected. Clear ruby red, purple, brown color. Aromas and flavors of big tart/tangy red/purple grapes, fruit skin/stems, blackberry, cherry, raisin, plum, prune, fig, date, black currant, red wine, dark chocolate, cocoa, coffee, caramel, brown sugar, toasted oak, roasted nuts, and dark bread/crust; with lighter notes of toffee, vanilla, licorice, smoke, oak char, leather, tobacco, herbal, grass, peppercorn, and yeast earthiness. Light-moderate fruit tang/tartness; herbal, grassy, roast, charred bitterness; and grape/oak tannin spiciness on the finish. Medium carbonation and medium-full body; balanced creamy/bready/grainy malts, grape/oak tannins; some stickiness and chalky roast in the mouthfeel. Light-moderate increasing tart/tangy/tannic dryness; no cloying/astringency. Very smooth sipping, mild increasing warmth of 14.9%, no lingering booziness. Not overly tannic. Awesome balance between jammy/tannic wine, imperial stout, and American oak complexity. Minimal residual sweetness with lingering tangy/tannic dryness. Did not like this as much as wineification, but it is the same idea. The grape varieties are more harsh/tannic, but not overwhelming. Got better as it warmed up. 4.1

Haven't had 90 Minute in a good 5 years. This was fantastic. Lasting rocky head retention/thick foamy lacing the whole glass. Aromas and flavors of big red grapefruit, tangerine, lemon, peach, pear, pineapple, apricot, passion fruit, mango, honeydew melon, berries, citrus peel/rind, wood, peppercorn, and pine hops; with honey, white bread dough, toasted biscuit, light caramel/nutty malts; and herbal, floral, grassy earthiness. Light-moderate pine, citrus peel/rind, herbal, floral, woody, grassy, peppery bitterness on the finish. Medium carbonation and medium-full body; balanced creamy/bready/grainy malts, sticky hops, and some resins/rinds in the mouthfeel. Light-moderate increasing bitter dryness, no cloying/astringency. Very smooth/soft, not aggressive, minimal warming 9%. Fantastic Simcoe/Amarillo profile as always. Very juicy, vibrant, and fairly dank/earthy hops; with a nice sized dark/bready malt backbone. Light residual sweetness with lingering resin dryness. Will buy more often moving forward, as with 60 Minute. 4.23

I have been a Green Bay Packers fan my whole life. I moved to Green Bay, WI, in 2012, to live with my soon-to-be ex-wife, who has moved out of the house. There is a free bus that goes to Lambeau Field that is 1 block away from my house. Long story short, today is the first day of my life that I have the option to wake up, drink beer, go to Lambeau Field, drink beer there with whoever, buy a ticket if I find a good deal, watch the game in the area outside of the stadium, or go home. I can do whatever, and can spend no money, or a lot of money, and get the full experience, either way. If you are not from this area and are going to the game, you likely will be paying a huge premium for a hotel, or have a long drive today, and have a lot of other logistical issues to worry about. This is an opportunity that I am so thrilled to have. However, there are currently thunderstorms that are not going away anytime soon. I will sip on this beer, then decide what to do today.

Amazing sweet stout as expected. Lasting thick creamy head retention/lacing the whole glass. Flavors of huge milk chocolate, cocoa, caramel, brown sugar, toffee, vanilla, cream, fudge, brownie batter, biscuit, and dark/brown bread; with light notes of coffee, roasted nuts, smoke, molasses, dark fruit, herbal, grass, and yeast earthiness. A bit muted aromas. Very mild herbal, grassy, roasted bitterness on the finish. Light carbonation and very full body; very creamy, silky, velvety, bready malts/lactose; slight slickness, sticky hops, and chalky roast in the mouthfeel. Slightly increasing lingering bitter dryness; zero cloying sweetness. Amazingly smooth/soft, zero warming 10%. Amazingly balanced super rich malts and flavorings; with just enough hops to balance. Not overly sweet/heavy from lingering dryness. Tastes just like a dark chocolate milkshake all around. No artificial flavors. Sea salt added to enhance flavors, rather than be noticeable. Not as mind blowing as the S'mores, but it ranks very high on their overall Blackwater series dessert segment.

Hazy light yellow gold color with white cap and lacing.

Moderate aroma of ripe fruit, Passion, Orange and Guava, just like the label says.

Taste on entry is surprisingly tart, rather sharp actually, followed by the commingled fruit flavors. I think orange peaks out a bit more than the others but the total effect is of well blended flavors. My overall impression is of a very well flavored, lightly textured wheat beer.

That's something I really treasured after my divorce, being able do whatever I, and I alone wanted. Turns out I'm pretty selfish, so being alone suits me almost too well. Cheers!

Goose Island Paper Umbrella. Excellent session IPA. Great fluffy head retention/foamy lacing. Aromas and flavors of big red grapefruit, tangerine, lemon, lime, peach, pear, pineapple, passion fruit, papaya, mango, honeydew melon, coconut, guava, berries, citrus peel/rind, cedar, mint, peppercorn, and pine hops; with moderate cracker, white bread dough, toasted biscuit malts; and herbal, floral, grassy hop earthiness. Light-moderate pine, citrus peel/rind, herbal, floral, woody, grassy, peppery bitterness on the finish. Medium-plus carbonation, light-medium body, and fairly crisp/clean finishing. Balanced bready/grainy malts, sticky hops, and some resins/rinds in the mouthfeel. Light-moderate increasing bitter dryness; no hop astringency. Very flavorful/refreshing, not aggressive, not watery for 4.5%. Awesome Millennium, Mosaic, Southern Passion, Azzaca, Sabro profile. Very vibrant, and fairly juicy/dank/earthy hops; with a great clean pale/Munich malt backbone for the ABV. Minimal residual sweetness with crisp dryness. They really nailed it. One of the better SIPA I've had.

I’ve had over 1500 beers and somehow this is my first from Connecticut. Black Hog - Coffee Milk Stout.

Hits the spot after staying up too late and drinking to much at a wedding last night.
