What beer are you drinking now? #2553

Why would they need any other beer? One of them is "Probably the best beer in the world" and the other is "The King of beers". Why would you want anything else? Heathrow got you covered.

 

Good day BAs! Starting the day with this New Breakfast Beer:



Passable American Barley vino, very reasonably priced.

 

Poured into a 16 oz Nordic pint glass canned on 9/26/19. Pours a very hazy orange yellow with a 2 finger sticky white head that leaves some thick waves of lace as it slowly settles. 4.5

Smell is strawberry, banana, apricot, pineapple, coconut, and vanilla. 4.25

Taste follows strawberry and banana are definitely the leads, pineapple, coconut, apricot, and vanilla round it out and man it is tasty. 4.5

Mouthfeel is big, moderate carbonation giving it that soft feel, a tad sticky but not dry, and at 7.2% drinks bigger but still easy going down. 4.5

Overall this is exactly what you would expect from the name and for me the banana doesn’t over power it and that is awesome. I love what this brewery is doing, excellent stuff. Cheers all. 4.25

Good morning, all! This one from TG seems to have slipped under my radar. This is Intergalactic Warrior, an American IPA hopped with Galaxy and Warrior. Canned 08/29/19 and still delicious. Bold citrus aromas and flavors, zesty bitterness, medium body, and a crisp finish. Cheers!

 

If Carlsberg is the king of beer,
this is the queen

 

This one is drinkable for sure, but not something I would return to in this market.

 

Dogfish Head Slightly Mighty Lo-cal IPA




Clear gold color with average white cap and lacing.

Aroma of bready grain and some sort of ripe fruit.

Taste is surprisingly hoppy for a light beer with a slight hop firmness that's both refreshing and bracing. From start to finish the malt carries things along with that small fruit presence that doesn't go off into sweetness. Not bad, not bad at all.

Light to medium texture with a touch more carbonation than it needs.

To me it tastes like an AAL without the rough edges. There's enough hop presence to keep things interesting and enough flavor to keep it tasty.

 

Another great day here and probably the last for a while. Sunny and 50° already.
Rode out to the lake, hiked and had a Dale's Pale Ale.
