Have a nice Saturday BA. Another bit of a party weekend. Have a few friends over chatting about existential random science things all night. Sweet.

Surly Todd The Axe Man. Glad to have in the state now. Amazing as usual. Aromas and flavors of huge red grapefruit, tangerine, lemon, peach, pineapple, apricot, passion fruit, papaya, mango, honeydew melon, blueberry, gooseberry, citrus peel/rind, wood, peppercorn, and pine hops; with moderate cracker, white bread dough, toasted biscuit, light honeyed malts; and herbal, floral, grassy hop earthiness. Moderate pine, citrus peel/rind, herbal, floral, woody, grassy, peppery bitterness. Medium carbonation/body and fairly crisp finishing. Balanced bready/grainy malts and sticky/resinous/rindy hops in the mouthfeel. Moderate increasing resin dryness, no hop astringency. Very smooth, not overly aggressive, minimal warming 7.2%. Amazing Citra/Mosaic profile. Very juivy, vibrant, dank, and earthy hops; with a great balanced clean bready malt backbone. Minimal residual sweetness with crisp resin dryness. Top tier stuff. Will always be in the fridge now.

Another excellent triple from Belgium. On a side note I’m looking forward to watch The Joker over the weekend. Both critics and the general audience are very thrilled.

Lagunitas Hazy Memory. Fantastic Hazy IPA. Lasting rocky head retention/thick foamy lacing. Aromas and flavors of big tangerine, red grapefruit, lemon, lime, peach, pear, pineapple, apricot, passion fruit, papaya, mango, honeydew melon, gooseberry, white grape/wine, citrus peel/rind, wood, peppercorn, and pine hops; with moderate wheat, cracker, white bread dough, toasted biscuit malts; and herbal, floral, grassy hop earthiness. Light-moderate pine, citrus peel/rind, herbal, floral, woody, grassy, peppery bitterness on the finish. Medium carbonation/body, and fairly crisp finishing. Balanced creamy/bready/grainy malts, sticky hops, and some resins/rinds in the mouthfeel. Light-moderate increasing bitter dryness, no hop astringency. Very smooth, not overly aggressive, minimal warming 8%. Fantastic Loral, Hallertau Blanc, Galaxy, and Citra profile. Extremely juicy, vibrant, and fairly dank/earthy hops; with a great clean wheat/oat/malt backbone. Minimal residual sweetness with crisp resin dryness. Would get another pack.

Amazing batch this year as expected. Aromas and flavors of big juicy/tart/tangy red raspberries, fruit skin/seeds, raisin, red grape, plum, pear, red apple, pepper, candi sugar, and toasted bread; with some herbal hops and yeast earthiness. Touch of banana/clove. Balanced fruit tartness and peppery yeast spice on the finish against malt sweetness. Medium carbonation/body, and fairly crisp finishing. Some bready/grainy creaminess, fruit tannins, and lightly slick/syrupy in the mouthfeel. Good dryness from fruit acidity and yeast spice; never too sweet. Very drinkable, minimal warming 9.2%. Already got 4 packs. This shows great balance of Belgian yeast character, without just being a straight over the top fruit beer. Love Rubaeus too, this is basically just the imperial Belgian version. One of my favorite fruit beers of all time. I wouldn’t mind Cerise coming back either. Super jammy. Will keep buying more while I can.

Amazing as usual. Dense pour, great head retention/lacing for the ABV. Aromas and flavors of big dark chocolate, cocoa, coffee, caramel, molasses, red apples, brandy, toffee, vanilla, toasted oak, and dark bread; with lighter notes of coconut, licorice, raisin, prune, fig, date, smoke, leather, and tobacco. Touch of brandy booze in the aromas, but not overwhelming. Mild herbal/roast bitterness, and brandy/oak tannin spiciness on the finish. Light-medium carbonation and very full body; very creamy, silky, velvety, and rich mouthfeel. Light slickness, chalky roast, and brandy/oak tannins in the mouthfeel. Slightly increasing lingering bitter/tannic dryness; no cloying/acrid flavors. Dangerously smooth, mild increasing warmth of 12%, no barrel booze. Perfectly balanced rich malts and brandy barrel presence/integration. A lot smoother and less bitter/tannic than the first time I had it.

Incredible NEIPA. Aromas and flavors of big mandarin orange juice, lemon, lime, red grapefruit, peach, pear, pineapple, apricot, passion fruit, papaya, mango, honeydew melon, guava, blueberry, gooseberry, citrus peel/zest, and light peppercorn/pine hops; with moderate wheat, biscuit dough, light honeyed malts; and herbal, floral, grassy hop earthiness earthiness. Very mild pine, zesty, herbal, floral, grassy bitterness on the finish. Medium carbonation and medium-plus body; very creamy/bready wheat/oat mouthfeel, with slight sticky hops. Slightly increasing lingering bitter dryness, no cloying/astringency. Minimal warming 7%. Super smooth/soft finish, and refreshing for the style. Spot on Amarillo, Mosaic, Citra profile. Amazingly juicy and lightly dank/earthy hop complexity; perfect wheat/oat/malt balance, not overly sweet/heavy from lingering dryness. Glad this is in distro now. Going to get more of this batch for sure.

Bell's Side Yard. Fantastic NEIPA. Lasting rocky head retention/thick foamy lacing. Opaquely hazy green color. Aromas and flavors of big tangerine, orange juice, red grapefruit, lemon, lime, peach, pear, pineapple, apricot, mango, melon, citrus peel/rind, wood, mint, peppercorn, and pine hops; with moderate wheat, cracker, white bread dough, toasted biscuit malts; and herbal, floral, grassy hop earthiness. Light-moderate pine, citrus peel/rind, herbal, floral, woody, grassy, peppery bitterness on the finish. Medium carbonation and medium-plus body; balanced creamy/bready/grainy malts and sticky/resinous/rindy hops in the mouthfeel. Light-moderate increasing resin dryness, no hop astringency. Very smooth, nicely soft, not overly aggressive, minimal warming 6.8%. Fantastic fresh Chinook showcase. Extremely vibrant, dank, earthy, and fairly juicy hops; with a nice sized wheat/oat/malt backbone. Mild residual sweetness with lingering resin dryness. Would have preferred some new world hops in there, but they nailed what they were going for with the style.

Light clear gold color with modest cap.

Aroma of sweet malt and light, floral hops.

Flavors are simple malt, rich and a bit sweet, with the merest breath of hops. The hops strike me as mostly floral and give some spicing to the dish without being a prominent flavor. Clean, simple malt flavors from start to finish without bitterness.

    Medium texture with balancing carbonation.

A pretty good stab at a basic Lager without any surprises.
