I have herd there cans can be astringent - is that true? I love their drafts

Yesterday was in the 40's with a driving rain, today I'm sitting in my backyard drinking a beer in short sleeves. Nuts, but not complaining.

@mickyge - hell yeah, I remember them, local Boston band circa 1980's if I remember correctly. I liked the tune you posted, good groove to it.



Having first beer of the day at the moment ...

 

The malt contributes mostly to the body and as a carrier for the hops which it does rather well serving as a launch platform rather than substantially contributing to the flavor. Good integration of taste sensations here, fairly complex. No alcohol apparent, clean finish with lingering hop aftertaste.

10/03/19. At approximately six weeks, the astringency/light hop burn has backed off, and I’m liking this DIPA even more! Juicy goodness. Cheers!

Hop Butcher Teal Ridge DIPA (Citra, Simcoe, Vic Secret, El Dorado). Some good hop nectar by these guys. Stripped of bitterness, this is one juicy brew with a significant softness and creaminess on the palate.

 

Beer #9. Sixpoint is capable of greatness. Like this 15% beast.

 

Carton's Harvest Rye Pale

Getting that spice from the rye in this one and the hops comes off like dank crushed herbs.

ABV at 6.2% provides just the right amount of sweetness.

Yep, true. They usually release them pretty green - I like to let them mellow for a week or two.

Revisiting one of my Colorado faves - NI Coriolis Effect IPA. Had the DDH version, too, and I might give the original the edge on this. Cheers.
