Here's where we differ. As far as lyricism goes, they are about as basic as you could get. I have notepads from when I was 11 that would body anything in their catalog. Preposterous, I know. That said, I've always said they were greater than the sum of their parts. Artistically, they never put out a bad album. They found what worked for them, but they never rested on their laurels. They kept evolving, musically. They are legends. They deserve to be exalted. However, when it comes to the technical skills of rhyming, I would give them an F. Not even kidding. I wouldn't even award a D+ to be kind. And I am more than qualified to have this "opinion".

Man, I feel like getting pretty LARGE tonight. This is Galaxy Bowl by Hop Butcher, and it’s quite a juxtaposition with the Cloudwater. The Brit was cool, subtle, sophisticated and refined. Da Bears is a Neanderthal with a club made from juice. And I love them both.

    Steven's Point Cuppa.
For me, this beer is just awesome. I know the overall ratings don't support that but on my palate it's like tiramisu in a bottle.

I really enjoy finding stuff that either isn’t well rated or pretty much unknown that just speaks to me. Tiramisu in a bottle sounds damn tasty!

80th !!?? We need to get to Manchester soon
Awesome stuff indeed. My sampling of Cloudwater does not even reach 20 I'm afraid. Would be higher if they would ship to NL. Been to their taproom in Manchester twice by coincidence.
    Cheers!

Who f*cking does that? Like seriously. Do they not realize that the distributor will take the old product back and credit them money? Like WTF? That's an IPA. It's not meant to be aged!!!

What can I say, I will give Cloudwater all my money! I think their taproom is the only thing I would see in Manchester...

This is a substantial brew by any measure. The malt is big, deep and tastes of toasted rather than roasted malt, dark caramel, toffee, and something like Turbinado sugar without the sugar sweetness. Indeed, it comes off as rather dry considering the flavors. Hops are there from start to finish contributing a floral, citrus touch both of which combine to offset the malt.

It is with a heavy heart that I announce the passing of a beloved family member of mine, Dr. Steven M. Rachlin.

Uncle Steve was a brilliant man, a renowned doctor of medicine, a published author, a cultured man, a father, grandfather, husband, friend, and a remarkably brave, determined, and kind man. He was my inspiration for pursuing a medical degree, he offered invaluable advice and insight to me since I was a small child, and he recognised me for the person I really am. He looked past superficial flaws, and saw everyone for the people they truly are. The medical community has lost a pioneer today. The people of Long Island have lost a life saver. A household has lost its head, and I have lost my uncle and my friend. He will not be forgotten, and his legacy will be carried on by those he has helped and those he has inspired to follow in his footsteps. Please join me as I raise my glass to a good man, gone too soon.

    Be at peace, Uncle Steve.

Got that one in the fridge, really looking forward to it! Everything I had from them from their Handpicked in New Zealand series has been amazing.
