    A beer and Trappist I haven’t had in quite a while, unfortunately rarely available even in the local beer store. Pure dumb luck today I found it, always a great one.

    Good morning guys, still snowed in. Port Angeles over on the peninsula got between 2-3 feet of snow over night. Western Washington is a wreck. Nothin' to do but self medicate...cheers!

    Any estimation as to best age range?
    My experience doesn't match what I see in this space, so assuming the two? times I had it, it was too old.:confused:

    these should age well with the brett. some even prefer the vintage bottles.

    Bottled in September 2019, so for Orval I’ll call it « fresh enough » but honestly it’s way too pricey even though it’s a great beer.

    Regarding Orval, I prefer it fresh. Easy enough to find here but always old. I don't mind some Brett (if anything I love it) but I like this one without too much of it. Need to get me some, just so I can take a break from all the DIPAs I have been going after.

    St - Ambroise Érable, a Canadian (Québec) Maple beer, at 4.5%. New to me beer and good, as I’d expect the maple is overwhelming. I likey.

    Morning, with a Zonker.
    Wildlife/walls update: got up on the roof, cleaned up a mess of raccoon poop (carefully, that shit is toxic).
    Then did some wire mesh and metal flashing exclosures on the 2nd and partial 3rd roofs for squirrels. Didn't hear the buggers last night, so maybe it worked? Fingers crossed.

    Somewhere over the Atlantic, drinking a lager from Norway - Aass Bryggeri’s “Fatol” (lager):

    Gold pour from can; tight, white head; excellent clarity; long cap retention and heavy lacing. Lite spice, odd floral hops nose. Herbal, strong cooked vegetables taste. Watery light body; moderate carbonation. Overall, undrinkable; think bad tasting, wimpy Euro lager; a fantastic looking drain pour.
