So it’s been over an hour and a half since the last post on yesterday’s thread, I have today off, and I’ve always wanted to try this combination, so might as well kick things off. The Rübæs is almost four years old, so there’s a little metallic aftertaste, but I’m actually quite enjoying this.

Morning BA. Prolly going to buy an 8 string guitar today.

Lets get my palate back on screen. Zipline Cherry Quad. Awesome. Aromas and flavors of big cherry, peach, plum, fig, date, caramel, brown sugar, toffee, vanilla, brown bread, toasted biscuit, and roasted nuts; with lighter notes of chocolate, cocoa, coffee, and dark fruits. Medium carbonation and medium-full body; with a very slick quickly.

4:20 am, nothing but infomercials and Mike Bloomberg ads on TV. Killing the last two cans of that Alaskan hazy bay. Gonna go shopping in a few hours to complete a couple boxes to ship out for some homies. (recycled pic, obviously not that light here at 4:20 am.... ooh 4:20 be right back)

Mikkeller Beer Geek Vanilla Shake BBA. amazing. Aromas and flavors of huge milk/dark chocolate, cocoa, caramel, brown sugar, coffee, vanilla, bourbon, coconut, toasted oak, and dark/brown bread; with lighter notes of molasses, toffee, and yeast/oak earthiness. Light-moderate pine, herbal, floral, grassy bitterness; and yeast spiciness on the finish. Medium carbonation and medium-full body; with a VERY silky, velvety, and slick mouthfeel. Tons of oak barrel. Dangerously smooth sipper. 4.41

If there was any doubt about the corona virus impact on travel, this is how empty the bar is at JFK at 11:30am

On the plus side I’m getting great service

I got a noise gate and footswitches to control the gain, reverb, and boost. Need to fiddle with the settings, or get new cables. EMG 808s. I wanted a coffin case, but they wouldn't give it to me!

Weldwerks Key Lime Pie Berliner. Awesome. Solid fluffy head retention/spotty lacing. Aromas and flavors of big juicy/tart/tangy key limes, lemon, citrus peel/zest, peach, pear, melon, red/green apple, white grape/wine, hay, straw, grass; with moderate vanilla, cream, wheat, graham cracker, white bread dough malts; light peppercorn, lacto funk, and yeast earthiness. Light-moderate fruity/lactic tart/sourness; light citrus peel/zesty bitterness and spiciness on the finish. Medium-plus carbonation, light-medium body, and fairly crisp finishing. Balanced creamy/grainy wheat/lactose, lactic acid, and fruit tang/zests in the mouthfeel. Light-moderate increasing acidic/zesty dryness; no pucker/astringency. Very smooth, pretty refreshing, not overly lactic, zero warming 4.2%. Awesome balance of big juicy/vibrant key limes, vanilla, lactose, graham cracker, and lacto complexity; with a nice pale/wheat malt backbone against acidity. Minimal residual sweetness with crisp acidic/tangy dryness. Really big fan! 4.1

Wifey's staying in Center City at the Flower Show for a couple of nights. Today is my Rumspringa. I'm having a Victory Twisted Monkey. I'm not sure that it has anything at all to do with the rest of their Monkey series, but it's still pretty good. It's definitely fruit forward and it definitely features mango as advertised. Looking back at my rating of it, I gave it a 3.74, and it would have scored a lot higher if it wasn't so sweet.

If you're thinking of trying Finback Bird God say goodbye to your taste buds. Astringent bitterness, like drinking bleach, ruins what would be an incredible beer.

[IMG] Poured into a 13 oz Snulip glass canned on 3/4/20. Pours a murky reddish orange with a massive 2 finger off white head that leaves a bunch of thin webs of lace as it slowly settles. 4.25

Smell is strawberry, vanilla, guava, apricot, and grapefruit rind. 4.5

Taste follows strawberry, vanilla, guava, apricot, and grapefruit very balanced with very mild bitterness. 4.5

Mouthfeel is bigger than medium, soft gentle carbonation, a tad sticky but not dry, and at 7% it drinks bigger in flavor but is extremely drinkable. 4.75

Overall this may be the best in this style I have had. The strawberry is probably most dominant, but not over the top or cloying at all. Excellent brew. 4.5

Good afternoon, all! Hitting some Hopslam, canned and purchased in January and then promptly forgotten. Until now. Still drinking great, but it'd be even better with some aged cheese and pitas chips. Then again, what wouldn't?
