Have a good Sunday. Finally got my 10TB HDD installed last night after I backed up my old 500GB drive. Instantly was recognized and formatted in the Disk Management utility, and I moved all my Steam games over there. Downloaded The Witcher 3 for playing later on. Western Digital always makes an amazing product, all I’ve every purchased for hard drives. Very quiet and fast. Noise was all I was worried about, saw some mentions in the reviews. It’s no louder than my CPU fan, though that is a pretty big one. The whole tower is designed like a tunnel with the cooling fans. Only thing I’ve never liked about HDD companies is they give you the size in decimal bytes. It’s 10 trillion byte capacity, or about 9.1 TB adjusted for the binary system.

Haw River Saxy Machismo. Fantastic quad. Great head retention/spotty lacing. Aromas and flavors of big raisin, cherry, plum, prune, fig, date, apricot, red apple, caramel, brown sugar, toffee, vanilla, bourbon, toasted oak, and brown bread; with lighter notes of coconut, licorice, wood smoke, chili pepper, habanero, herbal, grass, and yeast/oak earthiness. Mild herbal, grassy, peppery bitterness; and bourbon/oak/pepper spiciness on the finish. Medium carbonation and fairly full body; with a very smooth, cream/silky/velvety, and lightly slick/sticky/tannic mouthfeel. Lightly increasing lingering bitter/spicy/tannic dryness; no cloying sweetness. Mild increasing warmth of 12.2%, lingering pepper heat, and barrel booze after the finish. Nothing overwhelming. This was actually quite surprising, I wouldn’t have minded if they put more peppers in it, more of a mellow background touch. Perfectly balanced rich malts, fruity yeast, and bourbon barrel presence/integration. Not overly sweet/heavy from lingering dryness. Really grew on me through the glass! Spot on style. 4.25

Reuben's Azacca Crush. Excellent NEIPA. Great fluffy head retention/foamy lacing. Aromas and flavors of big tangerine, orange juice, red grapefruit, lemon, peach, pear, pineapple, apricot, passion fruit, mango, honeydew melon, red apple, berries, citrus peel/rind, wood, peppercorn, pine hops; with moderate wheat. cracker, white bread dough, light biscuit/toasted malts; and herbal/floral/grassy hop earthiness. Light-moderate pine, citrus peel/rind, herbal, floral, woody, grassy, peppery bitterness on the finish. Medium carbonation/body; balance creamy/bready/grainy malts and sticky/resinous/rindy hops in the mouthfeel. Light-moderate increasing resin dryness; no hop astringency. Very smooth, nicely soft, not overly aggressive. Minimal warming 6% or hop burn after the finish. Awesome Azacca showcase as expected. Very juicy, vibrant, and fairly dank/earthy hops; with a nice clean pale/wheat malt backbone. Minimal residual sweetness with lingering resin dryness. No complaints! 4

Right NOW, I am embarking on the seCANd leg of an extended journey to close out Untappd's "Better Together" CANlaboration badge. I wound up yesterday with the last of my Barrier CANlaboration beers & I wanted to begin my foray into Interboro, CANother frequent CANlaborator. In assembling my Interboro stash from my backlog, I found:
    https://www.beeradvocate.com/beer/profile/44293/427284/?ba=woodychandler#review

which would make the perfect bridge between the two brewery horizontals.

But wait! There was NO approved pic in place. 8=( A guiding tenet of The CANQuest (tm) is to NEVER Crack! open a CAN until a pic is in place for posterity. No problem, as my "photography studio" at Chez Woody/Abbaye de ChANdler is ready 24-7. Done. Next was resizing it & submitting it. Again, no problem. Usually, pic approvals are lightning-fast, but not in this case. 8=( I CANtacted several mods & was able to grease the skids to get its approval massaged through. Happy, happy, joy, joy! My utmost thanks to ALCAN (all CANcerned)! I promise to do that only in extreme cirCANstances, like when I REALLY want to drink a beer. ;=)

I’m the first one up after going to bed at a normal time for a change. Was supposed to have the wife’s birthday party with her family, and that’s obviously not happening. Going to have a small party with just the four of us, even though her birthday is Tuesday. Starting with a classic.

Happy Sunday, BAs! Went hiking at Valley Forge yesterday, so did not partake in the big wbaydn thread from last night. Felt really good to get away from the city for a day. Now back drinking 2 cities , from @thisischuck01 .

Incredible as usual this year. Aromas and flavors of big red grapefruit, tangerine, lemon, peach, pineapple, apricot, mango, melon, berries, citrus peel/rind, peppercorn, and pine hops; with moderate honey, white bread, light caramel malts; and herbal, floral, grassy hop earthiness. Moderate pine, citrus peel/rind, herbal, floral, grassy, peppery bitterness on the finish. Medium carbonation, medium-full bodied, and fairly crisp finishing. Balanced creamy/bready malts and sticky/resinous/rindy hops in the mouthfeel. Light-moderate increasing bitter resin/rind dryness, no hop astringency. Amazing classic Columbus, Chinook, Centennial, Amarillo, Simcoe profile. Very juicy, vibrant, and fairly dank/earthy hop complexity; with a great balanced malt backbone. Not overly sweet or bitter, extremely well balanced. Lightly boozy alcohol, but dangerously easy drinking. Never disappoints. Feels less sweet than last year. Also a lot easier to find when released. Still on the shelf.
