    Howdy peeps and peepetes

What can I say? I’m still being a recluse and have once again ran errands early before the supermarket gets too busy. I hope you all are holding up well in these odd times... cheers!

"One thing kids like is to be tricked. For instance, I was going to take my little nephew to Disneyland, but instead I drove him to an old burned-out warehouse. "Oh, no," I said, "Disneyland burned down." He cried and cried, but I think that, deep down, he thought it was a pretty good joke. I started to drive over to the real Disneyland, but it was getting late."

Now onto 3 Monts - I find the proper glass pretty and the beer is good as always...

As you can see I am also watching Better Call Saul latest episode, it’s still interesting, entertaining and well acted. Cheers x2...!

Have a good Wednesday. Wonder what sort of online shenanigans will be going online today. Usually Reddit has a few hilarious ones. Been up all night again as I took a nap during the day. Was listening to Enslaved and browsing Reddit for most of the night(been a while since I binge listened anyways). They just announced last week there is a new album this fall so I am PUMPED. A single drops on May 22nd. Been playing the Witcher 3 since 4 AM. So many games to rotate through right now; so even if I am stuck on one of them, I can do another one. Also need to get the Census stuff done today. Been ignoring the mail for months.

Lagunitas Born Yesterday. Still tasting amazing. Flavors of huge red grapefruit, tangerine, lemon, peach, pineapple, passion fruit, papaya, mango, melon, guava, berries, citrus peel/rind, peppercorn, and pine hops; with moderate cracker, biscuit, light honeyed malts; and herbal, floral, grassy hop earthiness. Light-moderate pine, citrus peel/rind, herbal, floral, grassy, peppery bitterness on the finish. Medium carbonation/body; balanced bready/grainy malt and sticky/resinous hops in the mouthfeel. Crisp/drying finish and never astringent on bitterness. Amazing juicy, vibrant, dank, and earthy balanced hop profile; with a clean pale malt backbone. Refreshingly drinkable for an IPA. Simcoe, Citra, Mosaic hops this year. Used to have Equiniox for years, but I guess they couldn't find much this year. Still have a whole other pack left, need to get some Waldos soon.

Good day BAs! Starting the day with a bit of left-over dampness from last night, otherwise a typical summer day here in NW PA. Local morning paper keeps us up to date on the (potential) body count - now where have I seen that before? Anyway, made a stop at my local vital beer distributor yesterday (he also sells milk and snacks) and stocked up on beer for another week.
Today's New Breakfast Beer isn't exactly new since I had a six-pack a decade or so ago but that was before I joined BA and began formal reviews (Informal review then - it sucked):

Just purchased Witcher 1 and 2 off Steam as it was only $4 to complete the trilogy. Easy decision. Also about 10-15 lbs down from where I used to be last month from a run of indulging too much on fast food. I plan on hitting a record low weight for myself with the biking and stuff going on this summer.

Mikkeller SD Read The Room. First review. Excellent NEDIPA. Lasting rocky head retention/thick foamy lacing. Aromas and flavors of big pineapple, tangerine, red grapefruit, lemon, peach, mango, honeydew melon, berries, citrus peel/rind, wood, mint, peppercorn, pine hops; with moderate wheat, cracker toasted bread malts; and herbal/floral/grassy hop earthiness. Moderate pine, citrus peel/rind, herbal, floral, woody, grassy, peppery bitterness on the finish. Medium carbonation and medium-plus body; balanced bready/grainy malts and sticky/resinous/rindy hops in the mouthfeel. Moderate increasing resin dryness; no lingering hop astringency. Very smooth, not overly aggressive, minimal warming 7.9% or lingering hop burn after the finish. Awesome Sultana(formerly Denali) hop profile. Very vibrant, juicy, dank, and earthy hops; with a great clean wheat/oat/malt backbone. Minimal residual sweetness with lingering resin dryness. No complaints! They certainly have done many better NEIPAs in the past, but this still is well made. 4.03

Bell's L'appel Du Vide - Blackberry. Amazing sour! Minimal head retention/no lacing as expected. Aromas and flavors of big sour/tart/tangy blackberry, raspberry, fruit skin/seed, lemon, lime, peach, plum, pear, apricot, melon, green apple, red grape/wine, oak, peppercorn, hay, straw, grass, leather, peppercorn, musty/barnyard funk, light wheat/cracker malts, and yeast earthiness. Moderate fruity/lactic tartness, fruit tang, and Brett spiciness on the finish. High carbonation, light-medium body, and moderately crisp/clean finishing. Balanced grainy wheat, lactic acid, fruit tang, and oak tannins in the mouthfeel. Moderate increasing acidic/tangy/tannic dryness. zero puckering sourness. Very flavorful/refreshing, zero warming 4.8%. Amazingly balanced juicy/vibrant fruit, Brett/Bacteria complexity, and oak foeder presence; with a solid pale/wheat malt backbone. Zero residual sweetness with crisp dryness. Not overly lactic. Go get some of this! I am getting another couple for sure. As far as true wild ales go it does everything right! Even lambic quality at half the price. 4.35

You have made my morning with two #properglassware posts so far. @Lingenbrau would be proud.

Diving deep into the cellar there. I paid $10 for a bottle in '96 while I was a senior in college. Two drinks from the bottle and the rest went down the drain... My palate was curious, but not particularly developed at that point. How is it now?

My wife and kids working & schooling from home have put a serious dent in my day drinking. Cheers all!

@jkblr Thanks, as for Lingenbrau/Phil, I believe he’s mentioned lately he won’t be participating as much if at all on the forums, life and all. There are other priorities for a man with young children than post here, but he’s prolly busy with work too. Cheers

It has really developed over the years. Tastes like a fine barley wine with just a hint of maple sweetness. I think it hits the sweet spot after 25 years. I'd buy more, but that bridge I bought in Brooklyn isn't panning out, traffic is way down. I think I'm gonna put it up for sale. Interested?

Happy hump day advocates. Love that more local breweries are delivering that Boom shaka laka to my house. Lic beer project triple candy.
This batch features additions of lactose and coconut along with a heavy dose of oats. Just spectacular cheers
