7.5 year revisit review. Cigar City Humidor Series: India Pale Ale. Fantastic. Great rocky head retention/thick foamy lacing. Aromas and flavors of big tangerine, red grapefruit, lemon, peach, pear, pineapple, apricot, mango, honeydew melon, berries, citrus peel/rind, wood, cedar, mint, peppercorn, pine; with moderate honey, caramel, toasted biscuit, light nutty malts; and herbal/floral/grassy hop earthiness. Light-moderate pine, citrus peel/rind, herbal, floral, woody, minty, peppery bitterness; and cedar spiciness on the finish. Medium carbonation and medium-plus body; balanced creamy/bready/grainy malts, sticky/resinous/rindy hops, and wood tannins in the mouthfeel. Light-moderate increasing resin/tannic dryness; no hop/wood astringency. Very smooth/soft, not overly aggressive/tannic; minimal warming 7.5%. Fantastic Classic C, Ahtanum, Amarillo profile. Very juicy, vibrant, dank, earthy hops; with balanced cedar and a bready Vienna/Munich malt backbone. Mild residual sweetness with lingering resin dryness. No change on score. Will buy again on the next can release. This was 11 months age. 4.2

Showing your age with that music selection; it came out in late 1964 (I was 17).
    Thanks for the memory!

This is really good too. Their IPAs are really hit and miss but this one is legit.

After an unwanted trip to the urgent care yesterday after weird pulsing feeling in my chest all god dam day I get sent to the ER because the nurse “can physically see your left chest ripple and I’ve never seen that before in my life”......so I go the last place I want to be to be told about a heart spasm. Blood tests. Heart monitor all that god stuff. But I’m alive. And should change my bad habits or else.

anyways. Here’s a beer. Flower Power from Ithaca. Probably only one today as a reward for painting my upstairs.

Got Streets of Rage 4 the other day and been playing it pretty much non-stop with my roommates. Absolutely fantastic sequel, reminds me a bit of Blade Runner 2049 in the way its able to perfectly capture the feel/aesthetic of the original while also being modernized in all the right ways. Awesome hand-drawn art, great gameplay, and an absolutely kickin' soundtrack.

Having a Resin to go along with it. This used to be one of my go-to Imperial IPAs and it's been way too long since.

Polly's Brew have really become one of my favorite UK breweries. Their stuff is conistently excellent and always a little different, it's got character. Like this great Pale Ale with an excellent balance of juicy/fruity and earthy/resinous notes.
